My husband's hours were just recently cut, now he has to take Mondays off. So last Wed. I was thinking, we have a few points left this year, annual passes that run out in July, and Monday off (I am a teacher), so what better way to turn lemons into lemonade but to go home. Called member services, they didn't have a studio at BVC, but OKW did! On the way there I remembered that in my haste, I forgot to request a nonsmoking, 1st floor room, both medical needs. We arrive at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, check-in with Bill, ask if at all possible we have these 2 needs, he accomodates both, and the room is ready. Man do I love DVC. I get home tonight to sit down and watch Food Channel Unwrapped and all of the glorious Disney Food, and want to go back tomorrow. Oh well there are still 24 points left in our year, and passes good until July 28, we will go home again soon, as long as those Mondays stay open.
By the way, just noticed, home is no longer Wisc. it is now Tallahassee, we don't do Disney for 1 1/2 days from Wisc.

Jeanne.....it's so funny, because as I was reading this (before I got to the end), I was thinking...."wow...these people really are major Disney fans to fly all the way out from Wisconsin !". I know I've joked with my husband from time to time, when I don't feel like cooking or during a cold, blustery wintery day in PA, that we should fly down to FL for lunch or something. But I was reading your post and thinking for a second.....gee, people do actually do this ! LOL
Glad you found a terrific way to spend your Monday
I enjoyed the Food Network special also......those wedding cakes are amazing........

LOL - I also noticed that "home" was listed as Wisconsin & when I realized you were checking in on a Sunday & leaving on Monday I thought "they must have decided to stay a week & the one extra day".

Glad you were able to go & have a good time. I certainly hope you get to use those points & the AP's one more time. :D

As I sit here eating my lunch & sipping lemonade, your post caught my attention :). Sure glad you were able to make lemonade for a few days at WDW. I have always found the front desk of the DVC resorts to be very accomodating with requests.

Great plan. Great story. Wish I live near enough to do similiar trip. Believe me, I have the urge.

Jeanne,
Lucky you! :D I was thinking what the others were until I read the end of your post! WI is a long way from FL for a quick trip! It's so awesome to be able to just pick up and go. We do that at HH since we're only about 5 hrs. away. I hope for you all that you will continue to have long weekends.:teeth:

:D Jeanne, how fun for you! I would love to be able to drive "home" at a moments notice............ahhhhhhhhhh!

We're all making the same comment. When I read you would go again before the end of July, I glanced at your home location and was absolutely floored! Then I finished reading and it made perfect sense. How great for you to be able to enjoy the magic so often!
