Your Circuit City confusion sounds so stressful. I keep thinking about buying a camcorder but the different types are just so overwhelming I haven't bothered to start looking at them. My camera takes decent video so for the time being I'm using that.

I'm glad you did end up liking the camcorder.

That's so sweet that your daughter was looking forward to pulling off the last ring on the countdown!!!

Great start!

We just got back from the doctor. Brennan (who will be eleven tomorrow) has a sinus infection. Grace (who is 15 months) doesn't have a spider bite but a staff infection. I am so upset. I have no idea where she got that from. It is on the back of her thigh. I did let her sit in the shopping cart with out our cart cover the other day because I was in a hurry.

Awww your kids were so excited! It's nice they slept in the car though. Less cranky later and none of that "are we there yet?" stuff! I teach first grade and get "are we there yet?" on field trips!

Reading your trip report is making me so excited for my trip! I'm just over 2 months to my WDW trip, and just under 2 weeks for my New Orleans trip! (Both are weekend trips...TOO short but what do you do?)

Thanks for sharing your trip with us....I'm enjoying it...and you haven't even gotten to the airport yet!

I'm enjoying your trip report. We leave Wed. at 12:55 from New Orleans!!! It is a surprise trip for my daughter 13, and her best friend. They still don't know. We are picking them up from school Wed. morning and giving them a card that says "We're going to Disney World, Right Now!" (got it from the Disigners here). Anyway, I'm so excited that I can barely sleep or function. My kids at school are wondering why I'm in such a good mood!!! Eager to hear more about your trip--especially the crowds. I've only been to Disney in the summer months (teacher!!).

We are Tiger Fanatics (some call us lunatics:rotfl: ) We are bringing our Tiger shirts for Sat. night when they play the Gators.

Well, I would recommend to NOT call Circuit City for help:rotfl:

Oh Laura, I am so sorry to hear that about Grace. What did they do for her? Is she on some pretty strong antibiotics? That could have happened anywhere. It's not your fault. This is a dirty world we live in. Well, not Disney World. There are no germs there:lmao: Keep me posted on how she's doing!

Yes, it was a nice car ride, especially with the soft sleepy time music playing. When we got back in the car to come home on Saturday, the CD came on and it made me really sad. It reminded me of that exciting drive to New Orleans:(

I'm glad you're getting excited about your trip(s)! I am happy to help:thumbsup2 So, you are coming down to New Orleans??? How fun. Where are y'all staying? Do you have all of your plans set? If you need any recommendations, I would be happy to help.

Oh how exciting. I can't wait to do that for my kids one day. I would love to pick them up from school and head straight for the airport! I don't know how you keep it a secret! I totally get the not sleeping thing. I don't know if you read my PTR, but I went through a serious bout of insomnia. I ended up having to go to the doctor for sleeping pillls! I couldn't sleep because I was so excited about our trip, now I can't sleep because I keep reliving everything we did! Did you happen to see my Tiger / Tigger shirts? We wore them on game day (LSU v MSU) and got sooooo many compliments. A wonderful DISigner made them for me! Got to represent when you're in gator country!

We have some big trees down too. The way the wind came in most of them fell in the sugar cane field. I bet the farmers will get their tractor and push them back in our yard. I really wouldn't be surprised. Your street sure had alot of damage. I am glad you didn't get a tree on your house. I don't know what we are going to do about Courtney's room. The wall is not as bad as she and I thought. Dh said it is not warped. He doesn't think the wall got wet. The carpet did and the roof is messed up by her dormer window. He is going to fix the hole in the roof tomorrow. He is finally going to get a day off tomorrow. The company is sending help from up north to relieve him so he can take care of our place. I guess we will call Stanley Steamer to clean the carpet in Courtney's room. If that doesn't work we will have to change it. Because it was a named storm I think we have to pay like $5,000 before the insurance will pay anything. We don't have $5,000 damage so we have to cover it out of pocket. It makes me so mad because our insurance went up $1,000 a year after Katrina and Rita. We pay so much for insurance and we have only made a claim on it twice. Once for Lilly and once for Rita. Both of those claims were around 1,500 dollars. That's nothing compared to what we pay a year for insurance.

Let me know if you find a cute M&M label for pressed pennies. I want some too. I am still not sure when we will go back to Disney World but I know I want some labels. I am now thinking maybe we can go in May and take the camper. I was reading on the dis camping board and it sounds fun. We usually go to Gulf Shores in June and take our camper. We might need to change that up a bit and head to Disney World instead. I want to go back so bad. We are going to Tennessee in Feb. durning Mardi Gras break. I really want to go to Disney World instead but dh is set on Tennessee.

Hi I've enjoyed reading your TR!! I'm from Gonzales. I see you live in BR.
Do you live, by Goodwood? In the picture that's what it looks live.
We were in WDW for the storm. But was that a trip.
We were booked to fly out of N.O. on Sept. 3rd on Southwest at 6:10 AM.
But with the storm coming we just knew we would not get out,SOOOO I call SW on Fri at 3:00PM asking if there was anyway we could fly out on Sat or Sun. They tell me that the all were booked.:sad2: MY Children were so sad!
They just knew we would be stuck in Gonzales!! :sad2:
SOOO, I'm on the phone, still with SW. and I tell my DH that the only flight was at 8:10pm that night on the 29th it's now 5:00 p.m. He said to me no way we could fly that night when we had only 3hrs to be there and he had not packed yet!:scared1: So everyone is so sad!! I'm still on the phone with SW. They tell me we can fly out of Jackson MS. on Sat. the 30th.That's 3hrs away,no way!:sad2: about 20 later he walks in I'm still on the phone with SW, Screams out LET's GO, BOOK IT!! :woohoo: I scream out to the SW lady BOOK IT!! :cheer2: We all 6 of us, start running around grabbing this and throughing things in the van.:scared1: Jump in the van at 6:15p.m.
heading to N.O. get to the Airport at 7:40p.m. in line the worker said there was a problem with our tickets it was taking her forever, I just knew we would never make it!:scared1: It's now 8:00P.m. she give's us our papers and we all 6 of us RUNNNNNNNNN to Security throw our shoes and bags in the box, run to the boarding and board the plane, buckle in and all look at each other in SHOCK!! To think 3hrs before to be in Gonzales picking up from a Garage sale we had that day!! It was crazy!!

From the storm we have to get a new roof! But the good thing is that we were in WDW for the 5 days without lights!! We had to throw out everything from our Fridge.

I just could not believe the trees and the damage in Gonzales and BR.

Can't wait to read more!!
Come over and read our trip report and my DD's. She is on my site too!!

Yeah, I'm heading down for the first time next Friday! I'm staying with some friends. Right now all I know is that the plan is to eat! :rotfl: I don't really have to plan much for it; my friends basically have everything taken care of! (As in, "you have to see this, and this, and this..." Which is good because my stupid library here only has NOLA tourist guides from 2002 and 2004:confused3 ) And, it's only a two day trip. *sniffle*

The WDW trip is only 3 days...:sad1: But about 50 of my friends (yes, you read that right!) are all meeting up down there for a weekend so it's going to be a blast! I am in the process of snagging those Mickey head paint samples and trying to think of ways to decorate my room. I may start a pre-trip report but probably not. I'm horrid at keeping up with them.

I saw those Tigger/Tiger shirts. The Tigger part reminded me of a Tigger shirt I had when I was younger. It was purple and had a giant Tigger on it. I suspect it's long gone now, although who knows....it could be in a box in my mom's house!

The4princesses....that is some story! I'm going to have to read your trip report too now. :thumbsup2

Ugh...gotta go to work....I hope there's another update tonight! (No pressure Tiger!)

Wow, that is probably the most insane Disney trip I've ever heard!!! How exciting! DH did that years ago around Christmas time. We had planned a trip to Vermont that fell through but we still had the plane tickets. We said, hey lets go to Disney and were there the next day! The sad part is, we had just gone a month earlier!!! It was our best trip ever, well, up until this last one with the kids. That one will be hard to top.

So, yes, I do live in Old Goodwood. Good call:thumbsup2 Our neighborhood was devastated and we were so lucky. It was very hard being here during all of that and knowing that our trip was just a few weeks away. I'm glad you got to be in WDW during the storm and that whole week. It was not a fun time in South la!!!

Glad you are enjoying the report and thanks for posting:)

Ugh...gotta go to work....I hope there's another update tonight! (No pressure Tiger!)

I would love to hear all about your NO trip when you get back. It's such a fun city to visit and it's really made a comeback after Katrina. So, I'm assuming you will be going to Bourbon Street??? I am also assuming that you enjoy beverages of the adult nature?? If not, that's ok but if you do, you must have a hand grenade from Tropical Aisle. Your friends will know what this is. Just be careful, they're potent. And of course, there's Pat O's. Hurricanes are bad. Be very careful!!!!

Ok, 50 friends in Disney?!?!? What a fun time that will be. Can I come??

I am off to do another update. You guilted me into it. Just kidding:lmao:

When I last left you, we had just settled in at the LaQuinta near the airport. I would be lying if I said I had a good night's sleep. Besides being completely too excited to sleep, DS kept waking up throughout the night because he wasn't feeling well. I just couldn't believe this was happening. My poor baby, feeling so sick on such a big day:sick: He was a trooper though. He woke up ready to go. And so did DD. Wow, can I tell you, this child is sassy. I don't know what I did??? She just changed over night. I mean, don't get me wrong, she is the sweetest most precious little thing in the world and sometimes I really can't believe she came out of me. But other times, I wonder if she was switched at birth!!! Her favorite word is no and she pretty much does the opposite of whatever I tell her to do. I know this is typical of a 3 year old, but still so very frustrating!

So, let's see. We woke up around 7:30 or 8:00. I showered and got dressed and then dressed the kids while DH showered. I had made the most precious shirts for them to wear on the plane but did not get a good pic because DS was sick and DD was, well, being 3. This is the best I could do...
disneyday1014.jpg

If you can't read it, they say "Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho. It's off to Disney World we go." So we were running around the room trying to get everything together so we could go downstairs and get some breakfast. My poor baby boy was really starting to worry me. He's 18 months and usually a ball of energy running around everywhere. This morning, this is what he was doing...
disneyday1019.jpg

OK - so we are leaving in less than 2 weeks for the BC and as it gets closer I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO nervous. We are taking 17 month old twins....would you do it again?? I am so worried I am going to just postpone....

Uhhhhh, something just happened to the rest of my post! I will have to re-type it. I'm off to Jenny Craig right now. Uhhhhhhhhh, I hate the scale.

I can't wait to read the rest of your update. Poor baby your ds looked so sad. You think three is bad just wait till 13!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I had one of my posts do that one time. It can be so frustrating.

Good luck at Jenny Craig.

Just got home and this is the first place I had to check! I hope the scale was kind today (although I know WDW = extra pounds....I gain about 10 pounds each trip...and not going is NOT an option!)

Your DS looks so tired...but I know you said your trip was great so I guess DD got less grumpy and DS felt better. (I hope!) The look on her face is priceless!

Sorry the computer ate your post. I guess it was hungry.

Ok, deep breaths! It's going to be fine. I'm not going to lie to you, it was hard. Really hard. I know our kids aren't the exact same age (Mine are DD3 an DS18mo) but it's pretty much the same...double stroller, tantrums, naps...We're in the same boat. I would be happy to chat with you about it. I learned A LOT. I can PM you my cell number if you want or email address. I would not postpone. You will be fine. How long are you staying? I think the key for us was that we stayed so long - 8 nights! We had plenty of down time and didn't feel pressured to be doing something every second. The kids really needed that off time. When I think back on our trip, the good definitely outweighs the bad. It's even hard for me to remember specifically the hard times. It was all great and I would DEFINITELY do it again!

I can't wait to read the rest of your update. Poor baby your ds looked so sad. You think three is bad just wait till 13!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Good luck at Jenny Craig.

I don't even want to think about the teenage years!!!:scared1:

Ok, I have no idea what is going on with my computer/internet. I have literally been trying to get back online for the last 2 hours. I actually posted a few times and they disappeared! I cannot tell you how frustrating that is, though I'm sure that's happened to a lot of you too! It rained a little here and when the wind blows, the internet goes out! Naturally, it came back right when the kids woke up from their naps! DH just got home so I'm taking a minute to finish this post....

Oh, but first, I must share that I actually had a successful trip to Jenny Craig. I lost a pound!!! Which I know is nothing but it sure is better than gaining. That just goes to show you how much work Disney is. I mean, I in no way watched what I ate, and I lost weight! Must have something to do with pushing around 70lbs in a stroller. Side note, I have NEVER noticed how many hills there are at Disney until I had to push a stroller up them. Good Lord, could they make it any more difficult!!! Great for the glutes though!:rotfl:

So, let me explain that pic of my poor DS. He felt so bad that he was laying on the floor. The dirty, nasty, who knows how long it's been since it's been cleaned, LaQuinta floor! I just kept thinking about that episode of Jon and Kate plus 8 when they drove to Disney. She wouldn't let the kids walk on the floor of the hotel room without shoes on because of the germs and here I am letting DS lay face first on it!! Oh well. He was not a happy camper. I managed pry him up off the floor and head down to the breakfast area for some food. I was at a loss as to what to feed him. I decided on grits and a bagel. That seemed bland enough for his tummy. DD had a bagel too. Here's a pic of her doing her famous head turn when I ask her to smile for the camera. Ahhh, my little princess...
disneyday1012.jpg

I don't even remember what I ate this morning. Probably just grazed off of leftover from everyone's plate like I always do. After breakfast, we went back to the room to get everything together. DH went to move the car closer to the hotel. We had to park so far away when we got there the night before due to the popularity of the famous LaQuinta bar:confused3 . He moved it right outside the lobby in a well lit area. I wanted to make sure it would be in a safe place since we would be gone for 8 nights!!! We checked out and went outside to wait for the shuttle. Here is a pic of DH waiting for the van. There was one of me too but I had 3 chins in it so I chose not to post. Aparantly I will be going to Jenny Craig for a while. Just kidding, I have lost 40lbs and am very proud! Ok, here's DH...

disneyday1024.jpg

We were off to the airport by 10:00am. We got there and unloaded our 6 suitcases and figured out a way to get them to check in. It was quite hilarous. I would have taken a picture of this had I had 4 extra arms. We walked in and all of the lines for other airlines were horrendous!!! I was worried, even though we had plenty of time. I didn't feel like waiting in that line and maneuvering all of our luggage. We got to Southwest and we were the first people in line! Woo Hoo:thumbsup2 Check in was easy. I had to get a lap baby thing filled out for DS because we didn't buy him a ticket since he's under 2. Hang on, I am going to start calling my kids and husband by their names if that's ok with you. There's just something impersonal sounding about DD, DS, and DH and since we've all become such good friends, I figured it would be ok:lovestruc So, I got Brendan's form filled out and headed to our gate. The girl who checked us in was very friendly. I was suprised. I heard someone ask her why she was in such a good mood and she said it was because she had been off for 3 days. Whatever works. I was just happy to avoid the airport attitude. We've never flown with the kids so the security check was a bit tricky. Didn't know we had to take their shoes off or take them out of the stroller. Everyone was very patient with us. Poor Jason (DH) had a hard time getting through the metal detector. It kept going off. He had to strip everything...ring, belt, phone. It was funny. We settled at our gate and Aubrey got the first glimpse of "her" plane...
disneyday1026.jpg

She was so excited. So was Brendan. He perked up once we got there. Here he is playing while we waited to board...

disneyday1027.jpg

Alright, it's dinner time. I must go feed the animals. I will post again later and I promise to at least get us to the MCO airport for you:rotfl2:

Awww, glad to see DS (Brendan, right?) looking better already! Musta been those grits!

That's funny about the airport. When I went to DLR this past April, I ended up on the security line that was COVERED in gold jewelry. They finally let me pass him because he KEPT beeping. You'd think he'd travel with a little less bling bling. :confused3 And he was flying internationally no less. (Because don't you know L.A. is another country.....my flight to LAX from JFK was in the International terminal :confused3 )

And yay! Next installment will be at MCO! :goodvibes

Hi! I am lovin' all the updates and photos :) When are you changing your title? ;) I ask only because it still says 10/4 instead of today. ;) Btw, I absolutely hate it when I type a real long update with lots of photos, then my computer hangs and I lose all of it!!! I can feel your pain. :headache: Now I've gotten into the habit of copying and pasting it on MS Word to avoid losing it all if the stupid (I can hear Jakob saying, Ooohhhh Mom, you said a bad word! LOL!) computer acts up.
Jen

It has been so crazy around here. I will have to fill you in with a pm later.

I loved the update. I can't wait to hear how Brendan did because I am trying to convince dh- Faron to let us take the kids to Disney World in our camper in May. Grace will be 23 months old then and I am wondering how that will work out. If we do this it is going to be a surprise for the kids.

That is hilarious! Sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit or something! And what's up with the international flight thing??? I've heard JFK is a crazy airport!

You are so right about my title. I think I am going to keep the title the same but just change the date each time I update, that is if I remember to. That's what you do on your's right? Please remind me if I ever forget:thumbsup2

Oh, it was a good thing my kids were sleeping when I was having computer issues because they would have been hearing some not so nice language$#@$!! I usually do highlight and copy the post before clicking on "post reply". I've learned my lesson too many times on that one. Way back in my PTR, I did a mini trip report of our last trip in November when Jason and I went bar hopping around WDW. There were a ton of pics and lots of writing. Yeah, lost that one and had to retype the whole thing. I was not a happy camper!

Oh wow, how exciting would a suprise trip be??? I cannot wait to do that one day for our kids. We drove through Ft. Wilderness this past trip to get to Hoopty Doo Review and it was beautiful. It's like they have their own little community there. Very cool!
