Turning into a Gustav Report! - We're home!

Well, here we go. My last pre trip post! I have had a crazy couple of days. A lot of things have gone wrong but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. Here they are:

1) they gave us the wrong camcorder at circuit city. When my DH picked it up, he didn't realize but they had given us the wrong camera. I had ordered one that recorded on regular sized DVD's but this one recorded on Mini DVD's. He returned it. I then called Circuit City and told the girl what had happened and she looked at my order. It looked like I had ordered the right camera but they gave us the wrong one at the store. So I re-ordered it and we went to pick it up last night. We had the model number and double checked that they gave us the right one this time. Got it home, opened it up, and lo and behold, it takes mini DVD's!!!!! Which is really not a problem, I was just very confused. Extremely long story short, I called customer service again today and we figured out that the description of the camcorder onine is incorrect and that it is in fact a miniDVD reocorder. It was a comedy of errors.

2)DS started with diareah yesterday and has an extremely raw bottom. He definitely does not feel well and has been sleeping all day. Hopefully he'll be well by tomorrow. These things usually pass pretty quickly. Murphy's law. At least it's happening now and now when we get to Disney.

3)So I was running to get to DS yesterday when he was screaming in pain from his diaper rash and what did I do, yep, twisted my ankle. Good thing my DH is a Physical Therapist. He looked at it and said it was nothing. I think it was actually more like a charlie horse than a sprain. It kind of comes and goes.

4) Oh, forgot to mention that last week I bought DS a cute pair of rain boots and he put them on immediately. He didn't have socks on and I didn't think anything of that. He had them on for maybe 15 minutes. That was long enough to rub his pinky toes raw!!!!! They are almost healed but I haven't been able to put shoes on him all week.

The good...

Package got shipped for little $$$, I printed out boarding passes and got boarding group A which is great!!! Got a hotel room in New Orleans for tonight so no worries about getting to our flight on time. And oh yeah. WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!! That's all I need to focus on. Hopefully all of these things that have happend are not bad signs and out plane doesn't crash or something!

So the next time I post will probably be tomorrow night from our room at BCV. Until then

Helloooooooooooooooooooo from BCV!!!! I just got internet access and I could hardldy wait to get on the DIS!! We are having a wonderful time. The flight was flawless. DS fell asleep 5 minutes into the flight and slept the whole time. He loves that white noise because he's also fallen asleep on each bus ride so far!

I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that we got here safe and are indeed having a magical time. I can't wait to start my trip report. I bought a little Disney journal to keep track of our days and all the details!

Most exciting thing today...I met a fellow DISer! She recognized my shirt and bag and yelled my name - DisneyTiger, that is! Too funny. I will write more about that later. For now, I'm going to enjoy our balcony - we got a quiet pool view and it's very nice, very quiet Until later

*a few hours later*...

I read through the whole pre-trip report! I was laughing out loud during parts and biting my nails in others, even though I know how Gustav and Ike turned out. A friend of mine also lives in Baton Rouge and she was without power for about 10 days or so. She was telling me about waiting on lines for ice, gas, etc every day and having to meet curfew. And for what it's worth, I don't think you were dwelling on the negative too much. I mean, really....you went through a HURRICANE! You deserve a hug!

I hope your trip is all you are hoping it will be! The trip really couldn't have come at a better time for you. I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thank you so much for reading my report. It's been a blast doing it. Thanks for the sympathy with the hurricane business. That seems like years ago! It was rough but it's made this vacation just that much more special. We all really needed it!

Ok everyone, I am mustering up every ounce of energy that I have left in my body to do this quick post. I am EXHAUSTED!!! Been up since 6:30. The kids did not nap and we made it all the way through Illuminations! Every muscle in my body aches. You know that feeling. It's the Disney ache, and I don't mean the one you get when you want to go back. I mean the one you get from pushing around 2 thirty pound kids in a stroller for 10 hours straight! I am so not complaining though. We are having a blast. Yes there have been meltdowns. But for the most part, it's been all that I hoped it would be. I shed my first tear tonight during Illuminations. That show always gets to me. I have taken 1000 pics I think, but I had to share this one. It made me and DH laugh out loud when we saw it. It's of DD's reaction to Illuminations. She LOVED it!!!

One other pic to post tonight. This basically sums up our trip. This is what it's all about. Cutting loose and not worrying abou the stains or sugar. Just let them have a blast...

This was in France and the photopass guy actually left his post at the Eiffle tower to come over to us to take pics of them. He took a ton. Good thing I pre-paid for the photopass CD!!!!!

Alrighty, on that note. My king bed and comfy pillow are calling me. More tomorrow

PS- please don't think that this is my trip report. That will be much more in detail with tons of pics. Every pic I take, I think to myself "Oooh, that will be a good one for the report!"

OMG your kids look like they're having a great time!

And judging from the amount of detail and photos (love them all by the way!) in your pre-trip reports, I had no illusions that those 2 photos were going to be your trip report!

And I hope you're loving the Beach Club. I've never stayed DVC but I have stayed at YC/BC Complex 3 times...soooo nice!

Hey Carolyn!!! I still can't believe that we saw each other. I have been telling everyone that story! I just think it's the coolest thing. Your daughter was so sweet. She is such a nice and polite girl. I loved how she gave (well, tried to give) Aubrey a hug! So sweet. You better watch her with those lifeguards

Yay, glad you liked the pics. We are still having a blast. I have to say, it was a bit hard for me to let them get ice cream everywhere but I quickly got over it after seeing how much fun they were having

Well, today we ventured to Typhoon Lagoon. I've never been there so it was extra exciting. What a neat place. I have to go back one day and really explore. We were only there for about 2 hours. The kids liked it. Tonight, we did Chef Mickey's. It was our first character meal and DD had an absolute blast. Man, was it a workout for DH and I. Juggling trips to the bar, feeding the kids, getting autographs, and taking pics!!! It was exhausting! But so much fun. Tomorrow is DD's actual birthday and DH and I just got through decorating our room with balloons and streamers. We told her that if she went to sleep that magical things may happen since tomorrow is her birthday. Needless to say, she went straight to sleep The plan for tomorrow is MK for opening then DD's first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop. Tomorrow night, breakfast with Cindy at 1900 Park Fare. I have been looking most forward to this dinner. Hope all goes as planned. Time to get some sleep. Nighty night!

Ok, it's official. We are not leaving. Not going to do it. Going to have to carry us out of here. Please forward all of my mail (except for bills) to 1900 Epcot Resorts Blvd, Villa 210.

Really, I LOVE this place. Not just the parks but this resort. It's amazing. I just went down to the market place to get some coffee in my refillable mug (didn't feel like making a whole pot) and picked up a delicious eclair. I stopped in the Solarium to eat it. The sunlight was pouring in and the couch was comfy. I really started to tear up thinking that I will be leaving soon. I know I shouldn't be talking like that since I'm still here, but I can't help it. I already miss this place. I can't wait to get started on my pre-trip report. I am looking forward to sharing our memories with you all. I just hope I don't go overboard. I am going to want to share every picture I know.

So, wanna know what we did today???? Booked our next trip. Yep, I mean, how lucky and I that I have a DH who starts talking about our next WDW trip before we even leave the place! That's how this trip got booked. We were here last November and he had the calendar out looking to see when DD's birthday was. We also looked into booking our beach trip for the summer. DVC is awesome. (I know I should probably save this for my TR, but I just can't handle it. I have to post something!) So, this past summer we went to Destin, FL with DH's parents. We go to the beach at least twice a summer in Florida or Alabama (by ourselves and then again with either his family or mine). Anyway, this past trip to Destin, DH and I had a date night and went out exploring. We found The Baytown Warf. It looked cool so we drove in and found something amazing - Disney at the beach!!! We just kept commenting on how it remiinded us of DTD and how the hotel looked like Beach Club. There are shops restaurants and activities every night in the square. Well, lo and behold, what did we come across while we were there? A Club Intrawest sign. Yep, they're affiliated with DVC!!! We can do an exchange and use our points there!!! We are so excited. We'll be going there in June. It will be our little piece of Disney at the beach. I just had to share my excitement with my friends.

Alright, I must run. I think DS is hanging off of the balcony. He has no fear. More later

We did have a great time and I am so pathetic to be looking forward to another trip. It's a sickness, I tell you.
