We had a very nice date Friday night with no kids. Haven't done that in months - since March to be exact! We had such a good time. We actually talked about our trip most of the time. He loves to hear my plans. Not too big on making them but loves to hear about them!

My kids are starting Mother's Day Out and we have open house tomorrow. They're growing up so fast!!! They will only be going twice a week and I'm looking forward to the break. Their school is right next door to the gym, which I NEVER seem to be able to make it to. Can't wait. I hope to shed about 10 more lbs before the trip.

Great that you got to go out on a date!
Its really nice that your husband likes to listen to your plans!

Two days a week sounds great. I bet the kids will love it and it will be a nice break for you.

Hey I learned something new today
Thanks Kathleen.

Your welcome.
 That's how I learned. Someone writing a tr asked, and someone else answered. I had not been able to figure it out.

I know I went a little crazy with the shirts. I've never made any before for any of our other trips. But, then again, that's before I found the DIS!:rotfl:

Your shirts look great!!!
I love that blue color!!!

I never would have thought to make shirts or plan our clothes before. If I saw someone in the parks I would have thought, oh what a cute idea, then forgotten.
But after 7 months on the DIS It seems perfectly normal. Almost a MUST do. How could we not???:confused3

:lmao:

Hello all, what a busy morning we have had. My kids are starting mother's day out next week and today we went to check out their classrooms. They had a blast and did not want to leave. That's a good sign! I am so looking forward to the few hours a week that I will have to myself. Have I posted this already? I am having DIS-ja-vue:rotfl: Ok, that was bad.

Anyway, not too much Disney stuff to report. I do have a few more pics to share. I picked these items up yesterday at Walmart. The little glow swords were .88 each!!! I just couldn't pass them up. I do have some kind of addiction to glowing objects. Wonder what that's about?:confused3 The LSU ponchos are for DH and myself. It it rains, I will just put the kids in the stroller with the rain cover. I kind of hope it drizzles a little just so DH and I can wear our LSU ponchos with pride. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I have mentioned before that we will be in WDW for DD's 3rd birthday. I have been collecting birthday cards with characters on them and I wanted so sign them as the characters. I did this yesterday. I know she's too young to notice but it makes me proud to have the correct autographs. Thanks so much to this website. Such a help!!! I actually received a post on a different thread from the site creator. Very cool. http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/disneycharacters.html

So anyway, here are the cards. Still looking for one from Mickey!

Hey DisneyTiger:

I love the T-Shirts... They are really great.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Love the cards... Great idea...

It's been a very busy weekend and the start of a very busy week. I finished my packing over the weekend. I know it's still 3 weeks and 3 days away. But nothing like making sure that I have everything. :thumbsup2 We did have to make a couple of runs to Academy and Target, for shorts and extra bath and shower stuff. But I do think I have it all together. My suitcase is full and in the back of my closet, DH's is the same, and DD we couldn't get her packed until after Labor Day, she wants to wear some of her clothes to school and DS well he's packed already.

School started yesterday, which was lots of fun. DD went to high school. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I can't believe that. DS loved his first day. :woohoo:

So I read that the Dr. put you on another sleeping pill, is it working better for you. Not sleeping through everything :confused3 Why can't there just be the perfect middle..:thumbsup2

How are things coming with you? Packed yet? Any big exciting plans for the trip... would love to hear about the exciting things that your planning on doing.

Have a great day.

I'm back. My niece just had her new baby girl this morning. The baby was two weeks earyl and she weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces. I think she would have been ten pounds if she had gone full term. You and your glowing objects. You are too funny. When we went I bought some nail polish from Sally's called "You Glow Girl". It didn't look like you had polish on but when you go in the dark your nails glow. I had to put a few coats. I would paint on a coat and then stand in the closet to test it out. I kept doing that until I was happy with the results. It was a little bottle of polish they were near the register for 99cents. I hope you can find some I think you would like it.

Are you getting concerned about Gustav yet. I am getting nervous. Dh bought a generator this morning.

Congrats on another new baby! That is just too exciting!

The nail polish sounds fun. My DD would LOVE that. I will have to look for some.

I have the weather channel on all day. It's pretty scarey. I went hurricane shopping last night as to avoid the rush of the next few days. Got a battery operated lantern, bottled water, some candles, diapers, wipes, batteries, and vodka. All I keep thinking is what if this was happening the week of our trip:scared1: I really do not know what I would do. That has been my main prayer these days, that nothing happens in the gulf around then!!!

Glad you are back and have two new babies to love! Congrats again!

I cannot wait to start packing! I guess if you started, that means I can start right:rotfl2: I have gone over it again and again in my head. Yesterday, I wrote out all of our outfits so that I know in my head what I'm bringing.

Wow, I can't even imagine sending my kids off to college and highschool although, I know those days are going to be here before I know it! When I was driving them to Mother's Day Out yesterday, I couldn't believe I was already doing that! They grow so fast but I know there are many more memories to be made in the future. And I know that one day, my DH and I will be happy to have our house back and enjoy alone time again. We have always said that we are going to move to Orlando. We figured that we would def be the most popular grandparents if we lived there! We both want to retire and work at WDW. DH wants to drive the DVC vans. You know, the complimentary one that they shuttle you around on? Not sure what I want to do. Maybe work in one of the resorts. We have PLENTY of time to figure all of that out. Alright, I'm off to write a new post. You have inspired me to write out our plans. Then I will hop over to check out your report. The kids are asleep, I have a fresh cup of coffee, and an hour of DIS ahead of me:surfweb: Have a great day!

Hello fellow DISers! Today has been a good day. I have been working on getting our church "moms and tots" group off the ground - we only have 4 members right now! I'm doing a big kickoff on 9/7 and it's been a ton of work. I feel like I got a lot done today so now I can concentrate more on my PTR and Disney!

DD and I did a fun project last night to mark our 30 day countdown. As of today, we're in the 20's!!!!!!!!! So exciting. Anyway, we made a countdown with construction paper and rings. She got such a kick out of the idea. Here are some pics that I took. She's so funny...

mickeycountdown002.jpg

mickeycountdown006.jpg

If anyone can give me tips on how to get her to stop saying "CHEEEEEEEEESE" for pictures and just smile like a normal person! Her face looks so funny in these pics but now that you know what she's saying, can't you just hear the word coming out of her mouth as I snap the pic. She makes me laugh!

The final product...

mickeycountdown007.jpg

Tearing off our first ring...

mickeycountdown008.jpg

Here's what it looks like now. I had to had to hang the end up high so DS wouldn't pull it down!...

mickeycountdown009.jpg

Well, I just settled down with a cup of coffee to write on my PTR but now I hear that DS is awake. I will post more later. I am going to write out our plans for the trip. I can't wait to see it all in writing myself!!! More later:cloud9:

I love the count down it is so fun. Your dd is soooooooooooo cute. I used to call it the horsey smile. My kids perfected it . I was so glad when they would just smile normal for a picture. I still treasure all of there horsey smile pictures and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

You made me want coffee. I didn't get any today because I left so darn early to go to the hospital. I am going make some now. Did you find the premeasured community packs yet? Just let me know if you want me to send you some.

I can't wait to read your plans later.

Such a cute countdown Mickey.

I really think that you can start packing... :rotfl:

I can't wait to see your itinerary. It's always fun. I put our itinerary in a small notebook, which fits in my purse, with all the important numbers and ADR information. Its so much fun to read. Remember I'm a little OCD about things. I should take a picture of it and upload it so you can see it.

The Book, sorry kind of blurry. I got it at Walgreens.
P1010050.jpg

A couple of pages that I did. You can't read them very well but you get the idea.
P1010051.jpg
P1010052.jpg

And it fits perfectly in my Coach Swing Purse that I carry for the whole trip.
P1010053-1.jpg

It makes it real easy to check and make sure I have done everything that I wanted to do and I can also write down things in the book as my day goes.

I know a little OCD...

I had better run, got to pick up DD from Gymnastics.

Looking forward to your itinerary.

I think I highlighted the main things we want to do. Things I'm most excited about...1st haircut, birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Mommy and DD tea, Stormalong Bay, MNSSHP, Whispering Canyon (never eaten there before). Ok, I need to stop because I'm looking forward to every second. Who am I kidding. Writing it all down like this makes it seem so real. Now, I just need LOTS of prayer to ward off any hurricanes thinking about spoiling our trip! Gustav is making me very nervous. What if this was happening the week of our trip. I would be an absolute basket case!

Speaking of the hurricane, we're just sitting ducks here. Reminds me so much of Katrina except that we now have a new governer that seems to be much more ontop of things. Guess they learned their lesson??? When Katrina happened, I was 8 months pregnant. I had a shower scheduled for that Saturday in New Orleans. We debated all morning and finally decided not to go. It was hard. All of the food was made, gifts bought. But it was the best decision I ever made. We would have been stuck in Katrina traffic for hours getting back!!! 8 month pregnant woman + traffic + nowhere to pee = NIGHTMARE!!! We lost power for a while in BR but nothing major. And then the next week Rita hit and we lost power for a week! Again, Pregnant woman + no power = no A/C = NIGHTMARE!!! My dr. wanted to induce me but couldn't get me a room at the hospital because of all the evacuees! Now we get to see what a hurricane is like with 2 small children!

How in the world did I get off on this tangent!!! Sorry to bore you all with my hurricane fears. Uhhhhhhh.

Alrighty, I would LOVE feedback on our plans. Any tips? See anything I should change? Am I missing anything?:confused3

I am just enjoying reading your plans. I wish I had plans to make. I tried. I told dh last nigh that I think we should evacuate to Orlando.:rotfl2: He wants to head to Houston. I like my plan better. I am getting scared. The projected path move 100 miles west over night. This morning it showed us directly in the path. I better go buy viennana sausages:rotfl2: I am just teasing I don't like them too much. It is funny how everyone around here just stocks up on those things when we get a hurricane. That is one of the first item to run out on in the stores. I will check back with you later.

Evacuating to Orlando? Now that, my friend, is a brilliant idea! I say go for it. I mean, it's for your safety. It is scarey. I hate this. Just sitting and waiting. I know that we are pretty safe here in BR but I am not looking forward to no power. The thing that really scares me is the fact that I have 5 or 6 HUGE oak trees all around my house. Now, I know that they are old enough to have survived Camille, Audrey, Betsy, Andrew, Hugo... all the biggies. So I'm pretty sure they won't be going anywhere but it still scares the heck out of me. Our bedroom is all the way in the back of the house, farthest away from any trees. I think that's where we'll all be sleeping Monday night. I will just consider it practice for our trip - all sleeping in one room. Yay hurricanes!!!

Also, I checked on the map to see exactly where you are. Didn't realize you were so close to Napoleonville. You don't happen to go to church at St. Anne's do you? My brother is the pastor there. Just a shot in the dark. Everyone seems to know him around there. He'll be evacuating here. They are required by the bishop to remove all sacred objects from the church. He's bringing everything here. I figured we should be pretty well protected if all of that stuff is in our house:rotfl:

DisneyTiger

Did you do the Dinning Plan?

Your itinerary LOOKS Fabulous....:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I can't wait to hear about the first haircut. That's going to be so cool.:thumbsup2

Whispering Canyon, I just can't wait either. It's going to be such a party for our big group of 7.

Your right on everything. It's all going to be so much fun expecially for you and your kids and seeing Disney through their eyes... Oh what joy you will experiance. It just brings a tear to my eyes for you. I think it will be fun watching Brady and Rae get all excited and they are 17 & 14.

Here's sending :goodvibes to you and I'm glad you've already done your shopping for the hurricane, so you don't have to fight the crowds. Did you fill your gas tank? I'm sure you did... but a little reminder. :)

:goodvibes to you.

Napoleonville is closer to Morgan City. Morgan City is about 50 minutes from here. I live in New Iberia.
You should be ok in Baton Rouge. I made reservations at Tyler state park in Tyler Texas. I have the reservation if I don't need it I will cancel in enough time so someone else can get it. I was surprised when the lady told me there would be no charge because we would be evacuees. That is nice of them. I hope our state does the same thing when people evacuate here.

Disney Tiger and Couteau Chic -
Hope the hurricane stays away from both your areas. pixiedust: pixiedust:
Take care and stay safe.

All those birthday cards are wonderful!
You did a great job with the signatures!
Cute countdown rings. That will be fun to use!!!

Your plans look great!
It will be so wonderful to see the kids reactions.
Your daughter's birthday will be so special!

We may go to Fantasmic on the 27th, but we haven't decided yet.
I think we will decide that day.
We only have four nights. 2 will be MNSSHP. One will be Spectromagic and wishes. The other we need to decide between Illuminations and Fantasmic. :confused3
I go back and forth between which I just read a nice report about.
Either that or come up with a plan to see two evening events on one night. :sad2:

Yes, we are doing the dining plan. I think it's so worth it especially with all of the ADR's and character meals we have planned!

I am really excited about her 1st hair cut too. Her hair has been so beautiful since she was born and I've never really thought that it even needed to be trimmed. Just today I noticed that it was looking a little ratty so it's perfect timing!

I am all set for the hurricane. I just hope we don't lose power too long. It's soooo hot!!! Thanks for the :goodvibes And yes, I filled up my tank today only after waiting 20 minutes! Not bad:sad2:

Thanks for sharing the pics. That is a perfect sized little bag. Don't even talk about OCD. I don't think there is one detail I haven't worried about!

So, I have figured out two things tonight. I just assumed that you were in Grand Couteau because of your name. Didn't know you were in New Iberia:rolleyes1 Second, Grand Couteau is not near Napoleonville:confused3 I have to say that geography is something that I do not excel in - except of courst the geography of WDW:rotfl:

I think the cards came out cute. I just hope she appreciates them! It was a lot of fun for me!!!

I have to say that if I had to choose between Fantasmic and Illuminations, I would go with Illuminations. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Fantasmic. There's just something special about Illuminations. I just never gets old. I love it and can't wait to share it with my kids:love:
