Turning a room only reservation into a package

Okay, I want to turn my room only reservation into a package by adding tickets and the dining plan. I booked using the summer 30% offer. When I booked the CM asked me if I wanted to add tickets and dining and at the time I did not.

Cut to today, we DO want to add the dining plan and tickets. I called to change the res. and was told at first:

1. Can't add tickets or dining without losing my discount

2. When I told the CM that the person who booked me at first asked about the ddp and tickets she THEN told me I could add tickets but not the dining plan.

I know I have to cancel my original reservation to make it a package but I thought I would be able to keep my room discount and add on the ddp and tickets.

Any advice??

Thanks!

This is the rub with "turning" a room-only discount into a package one so you can use the dining plan... you can't. It's a rebook and you lose the original discount since it was room-only. You could try a different CM but I'm not sure you'll have any different luck. A dining plan requires a package, and that is what is getting you I think.

Yes, you can add tickets and dining to make it a package without losing your discount. However, you won't be "turning it into a package" per say as the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit (or payment in full if you are 45 days or less from your arrival date). But this can be done without losing the 30% off on the room portion. If the booking window for your 30% discount has expired, you will most likely have to talk to someone in Guest Services to make the change so you don't lose the discount. I would call back and if the CM tells you it can't be done, ask to speak with guest services and they should be able to help you :).

Thank you for your responses! I did call back and was able to keep the room discount because the CM told me she'd process it as an "up-sell." Hey, whatever works.

I did look at other threads here and knew it could be done I was just confused as to why the first CM would let me add tickets but not the dining plan.

This community really is invaluable. Thank you again! :goodvibes

Some CMs aren't the best source of information :sad2:. I'm glad everything worked out :).

Thank goodness. Glad I was wrong!
