It was cold here!! The dog is so happy- curled up on the couch in front of the stove.

Have you turned on your heat yet?

No heat on yet. As a matter of fact, AC still on. I do love the cool mornings, feels great after a blazing summer!!!!

Oh no!! Keep that cold air up there. I have my doors opened. Not that is particularly warm but its not cold yet!

We hold off as long as possible before caving in and turning the heat on, usually sometime in mid-October. I always dread the utility bills in the winter...

We still have the A/C on here. At least the high is only supposed to be upper 80's today and not 90's or 100's!

I'm one of the grizzled vets who will go the ENTIRE winter WITHOUT any heat. Yup, I just grit my teeth and bare it.

I try to go until November 1 before I turn the heat up- today I used my child and dog as justifications.... my son is home sick- and my dog is almost 13 and doesn't care for the cold. I figured if I was cold, so was she.:rolleyes1

Time to close the windows and pile on the blankets on the bed, I think we can go a few more weeks without turning the heat one, maybe a fire now or then to warm up the house on a cool night.

You must really shiver when it gets below 80! :lmao:

My sister in Northern MN is talking about turning theirs own. It's been pretty chilly there.

Here in the South? No way. The temp yesterday was 89 degrees. I don't know what todays high will be. Probably more of the same. I did notice a nice breeze today.

Nope, not yet, and I hope I don't have to until October. Two weeks ago the air conditioner was running full blast. I just cannot wrap my brain around the fact that we are going to be needing the furnace soon. Ugh.

We had heat on a week or so ago, very cold at night. Back to AC again, or at least the heat off. Past week has been gorgeous, in the 70's, real low humidity, very clear skies.

My son goes to school up in Northern MN, they had snow flurries on Sept 1st there. I just checked, high today up there is supposed to be 59. It has been getting cool overnight here but not cool enough to turn on the heat. When it stops getting nice during the day is when we need to turn on our heat-usually end of October/early Nov.

nope....still running AC all the time. We just moved here, so not sure the heat goes on. Maybe Dec. :rotfl:

It wouldn't be on in WA either....never before Oct.

Texan here -- it is currently 92 with a heat index of 101. :scared1:

Our AC runs most of the year. A lot of days in the winter we'll have the heat on at night and have to turn the AC on during the day. :)

I have to ask -- what is a pellet stove?

It's like a woodstove but it burns wood pellets instead of logs.

I'll admit it.. I had 2 small heaters on. Its not cold enough to turn on the heat, but the kids hate waking up to a freezing living room when they are getting ready for school. Plus we are all sick again... I went to sleep last night with 2 blankets and the heater on in my room.. woke up sweating to death at 3am...
