Sitting in our 1 BR at BCV, and there was a knock on our door a few minutes ago. There was a CM at the door saying we were "on the list" for turn-down service and asking if we wanted it. DH didn't even know what turn down service was (and neither do I, really) so he just said "No, thanks" and off the CM went. But now I'm wondering-what is it and why were we getting it? Isn't that something with concierge at AKV?

In some hotels, turn down service includes, new towels, turning the top cover of the bed down, and placing chocolate on the pillows. Yes, you get it with AKL concierge.

Are you staying on your points, are you renting, or are you paying OOP?
Staying on points or renting you should not be eligible for turndown service at BCV. Unless you had an issue and someone is trying to give you pixiedust:.
If you are paying OOP - I do not know if you get it or not.
Did you pay for concierge and they put in you in a DVC villa? Then yes, you would be eligible for turndown service.

Nope, members staying on points just like every other stay we've had here. Don't know why we got the turn down service last night (that first night they asked us and DH "turned them down", last night they didn't ask us, just made the bed, turned it down, closed the curtains, and left us 3 free chocolates). The only thing different from any other stay is that when we checked in, there was some "computer crash" and we had to sit in the lobby while they redid stuff. Then our Magic Bands didn't work and they had to give us new PINs. We never complained, but maybe it's part of Disney being proactive with glitches in the MagicBand system-they don't want any upset guests. If so, give me free chocolate and I'm happy!

It's a new Disney extra, $20 per day, no refunds, billed to your room.

$20 for 3 chocolates.:eek:Boy, that's kinda high-even for Disney!

Well, it was $6 for the new towels, $4 for the sheets being turned down and 3/$10 chocolates. Have you been to the Confectionary lately?

There had been a computer problem, or something wrong with the room we were to have at BWV in January. So, we got knocks every day, someone just happened to be in the room, asking if we wanted housekeeping for the unit. We took the clean towels on a day or two, but no, we didn't need cleaning. We also had been upgraded to pool view from the standard view that I had booked.

Just enjoy the amenities!
