We had dinner around 3:00 and my guests have left. It has been a long day and now I am feeling hungry again. I am thinking of pulling out leftovers for a sandwich. I had a friend once that introduced me to adding cranberry sauce to my turkey sandwich and I thought she was crazy! (turned out great) How do you make your most delicious leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches?

I like plain sandwiches, so it’s just turkey, some pepper jack cheese, and bread. I eat the cranberry on the side, along with some chips.

Pretty much just like you. Bread, cranberry sauce, turkey, Oh, and Miracle Whip.

I just had a half of a turkey sandwich. Simple honey wheat bread, mayo, mustard, turkey- it's what I had growing up and I must have one each Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow, I may go fancier and toast the bread and add cranberry relish and cheese.

Dh tried to tell me that's what I needed tonight, but no, I needed my simple comfort food.

A deli here turned me onto cranberry relish. It's basically mashed or chopped cranberry sauce mixed with mayo. The proportions are up to your taste. I prefer more cranberry sauce to mayo. Add some cracked black pepper.

The deli makes a sandwich they call: Thanksgiving on a roll. Pile turkey & leftover stuffing on a bun or hero. Slather on the cranberry relish. :cloud9:

I like the whole Thanksgiving dinner on my sandwich. Turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce, even sliced Brussels sprouts. Back in the good old days, I'd build one of these sandwiches on Thanksgiving night as I was putting away the leftovers and wrap it in foil (because it was too fat to fit in a sandwich baggy, haha). Then I'd get up super early the next morning for the Black Friday sales. I'd take this sandwich along and take a few bites of it between stores to keep my strength up. But lately Black Friday has changed and starts way before Friday, and of course this year is messed up entirely.

Any Friends fans remember the "moist maker?"

When we get sandwiches from Capriotti’s I always get the Bobby- turkey, mayo, stuffing and cranberry sauce. But I do not eat cranberry sauce with my Thanksgiving meal and my turkey sandwiches are turkey, mayo and sharp cheddar on leftover rolls or white bread.

I don't care for hot turkey so usually eat just the side dishes at Thanksgiving. I do like cold turkey sandwiches -- turkey, pepper, mayonnaise, on white bread.

For the first time I will have leftovers to make sandwiches.

Lunch tomorrow will be turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry sauce & a little bit of gravy on Sourdough. Grilled, I think.

On a related note, I found a recipe for leftover turkey (not sandwiches but still it was the added cranberry sauce that reminded me lol)..
you layer it kind of like a Sheppards Pie...butter a 9x13 dish, then a layer of leftover dressing, layer of cranberry sauce, layer of leftover cooked turkey, mashed potatoes on top, then cheese and bake. Whatever vegetable you like either layered in or on the side.
It`s good.

Just toast, butter, salt and pepper. If you have it, bacon is a nice addition.

In our house, the evening after a turkey dinner is always capped off around 9pm with my DM and I each having a wing. It's still fresh and crisp, but we have room for the extra meat.

I should also mention my lunch, well before the turkey is the boiled neck with a little salt. That's a treat. Just be careful around the bones.

For me it’s always been turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce on white bread

For DH, Turkey, mashed potatoes and mayo on white bread.
