I need some help.

I found a nice easy recipe in a flyer inside my Pillsbury pie crust box. It was for turkey pot pie - using leftover turkey, frozen mixed vegetables, the pie crusts, and I don't remember what else. And I can't find the flyer now.

It also had a recipe for chocolate pecan pie if anyone noticed that one. I'm hoping someone else saved it. Thanks!

the missing ingredient is most likely a cream soup. something like cream of chicken. that is what i use when i am short on time.

you should cook the pie crust according to package directions first. then add the ingredients (which you already mixed in a bowl!) then pop in a preheated oven (350 degrees, my fave temp for everything!!) and heat until warm all the way through.

hope i helped.

I use a jar of Turkey Gravy, not a cream soup.

This isn't from Pillsbury, but one I kind of "invented" on my own:

Leftover Turkey Pie
1 jar turkey gravy
1/2 c water
2 Tbl flour
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tsp chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp parsley
1/8 tsp garlic powder
2 c cooked turkey
2 c potatoes
2 c mixed vegetables
prepared pie crust

Mix gravy, water, flour, pepper, bouillon, parsley & garlic in a large bowl. Stir in turkey, potatoes (canned or nuked & peeled) & veggies. Pour into ungreased casserole. Top with pie crust & seal edges. Cut slits in top & bake at 425 for 30 min, until crust is golden brown & liquid bubbles through slits.

Thanks angela and piratesmate :D

I'm pretty sure the recipe I lost used the canned turkey gravy. I make very good gravy myself  and rarely buy the canned so I remember thinking I'd have to add that to the shopping list.

I think with your ideas and some experimenting I can come up with something my family will like. Thank you.

DH likes my homemade gravy, but we found that the jarred (maybe Heinz? - I don't have any right now) makes it taste more like a bought "pot pie" like Morton's or Myer's. I've made it with my own gravy, but have to admit that now I'll drop what I'm doing to run out & get a jar if I don't have any. I really think it makes a big difference!

Gotcha Deb. We all ended up getting a stomach virus this weekend so the last thing we want right now is something like turkey pie.

But I think the canned gravy would work great if you'd cooked a turkey breast or something that doesn't produce as much gravy. Using canned potatoes is a great time saver too!

Happy cooking. :D
