They taste like ham because they are smoked. This also explains why the color is pink. Most any smoked meat will have a taste and color similar to ham.

my family loves them. i try to make sure we sit down or stay in one place when we eat them so we don't look like slobs to others in the parks.

Everytime we go we have to get one and usually two or three or four.... They don't look it - especially on a hungry stomach - but there is a lot to eat on those babies so my DH and I split em. They are AWESOME!

I have at least one every trip. It did gross my DH out one time when I got one at AK. He said it was just WRONG to walk around looking at animals while eating "that thing".

I agree whole-heartedly on this one!! We love them in Frontierland (except for those nasty white birds that flock to you when you eat them. Isn't that cannibalism for birds to eat themselves??) but won't eat them at AK.

BTW: We always get a hamburger and fries at the Frontierland restaurant (can't remember the name) and a turkey leg and share it all. It's a pretty cheap meal that way!
