We have been at Turkey Lake CG for the past 2 days. We leave in the morning for our FW check in. I'll tell ya, it's a really nice place and the people here are real nice. It's very shady and the sites are level. Really good place if you want to stay longer than your FW ressie and it's really close to Universal. There is no store and the pool is closed right now. It's on a lake (obviously by it's name) and they have a frisbee golf course on the grounds as well. You can let yourself in and out with a lock code. I didn't use the comfort station but did go in to see what it was like and it was pretty clean. They have washer dryers as well. We commuted to Disney in about 15 minutes. I parked at the overflow lot both days and took the bus to the parks. I'm sure some may say I'm wrong for doing that but I spend rougly $2k a year with Mickey and I figure he can let me save $20 on the lots at the park before I spend a few hundred bucks this week. If the lot was close to being full I wouldn't think of it but there was plenty of spots and I don't think they'll throw me in Disney jail.

How are the prices? Is it full? Wondering about it since it would be nice to have another backup besides Torpical Palms!!!

Paid $15 a night. I have to admit it's not really fancy but it's been great if you want to add on a couple days to your trip without paying a fortune. I hear Tropical has gone to $70 a night and I wouldn't pay that. The only reason I pay it when we go to the fort is because the ammenities.

I have heard of this camp ground. One of my clients who visits the hospital in Oralndo says its the best kept secret in Orlando. I have not been able to go yet but my Dad was really impressed and I thought it would be a good location to Universal & Sea World.
Thanks for letting us know!

I asked on the way out if it was hard getting ressies and he did say the snowbirds were a tlittle crowded right now. The first time I called a lady said we have nothing. The second time I called the man there said I can get you water/electric site with no sewer so I'm not sure if she thought I wanted a full hookup or not. For as little time as we mostly spend on a site I can deal with dumping on the way out or at Flying J.

OK, I'm glad for this review, we keep wondering if there is something closer to Universal to stay at in the future. Great to have options..:thumbsup2
