Turkey Day Gang 2009

This is where I keep very quiet....seriously Andrew is a very tall kid for his age.

Hi Chuck,

I thought you'd get a chuckle out of that one... Lord knows I laughed really hard and told Andrew, "I hardly consider you travel-sized!"

He is a very good traveler though!

Hope you all enjoy your T'day cruise very much. I'd be interested to hear what has changed since we were there a year ago.

Karen

Coming to you live from DVC Vero Beach...this place is actually pretty nice, but to save on retyping, I put a lot of the details into the other thread...saw the PM's and will forward the messages to Lisa...she will be back on Tuesday night when we return home...typing on the laptop now from the very nice hotel lobby hotspot...

Chuck:cool1:

Hi everyone!!

For all you DVC members, we highly recommend the DVC Vero Beach Resort. It was beautiful!! We had an Ocean View Inn Room. It reminded us of being on the Magic!! We had a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean!! Also, there were lots of activities for Mason. He went on a Nature excursion and saw Dolphins. He built a birdhouse and went to an "unbirthday" party. They also had a campfire w/ campsongs and s'mores. Finally, there was a very nice pool w/ waterslide!! :cool1: It felt very good to get away for the weekend!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

ONE year from today I DEPART NH for BOSTON to get on a plane to get on my vacation!!
yahoo yahoo

on 12/19/2008 I can book my Delta flights too!!!

rent a car for the week before the cruise is all set now too

Just need to book the Hyatt for the night we get OFF the Magic....

oh ya and get Passports!!

Hi gang! I've been MIA from this thread for a while. It looks like we have lots of new families joining us!

I can't believe we are almost to the one year mark!!! :cool1: We need to get passports, and new park hoppers too.

Hi everyone!

Well, Andrew survived his tonsillectomy...though his voice has changed. I've survived my hysterectomy (and am quite sure the entire 5th floor nursing staff breathed a sigh of relief when I left!) and Steve is (so far) surviving having me at home.

I'm actually feeling really good today which, 4 days post-op I consider to be really good. I'm not ready to tour the parks or run a marathon....but I've not had any paid meds today and that's good!

I can't believe it's only a year until we cruise....but I still wish it was sooner!

Karen

Then I will be very quiet and not say (one week)...I will not....oops

Feel better.

Chuck:cool1:

FYI - I just cancelled our secret porthole room (5020 I think) for the Eastern Thanksgiving cruise 2010. Not sure how long it will take to show up again in inventory, but it should be there soon if anyone wants it.

Jodie

Oh Jodie....I hope your family is still able to cruise with us in 2010 and I hope that everyone is well. I've gotten to know you a bit through email and I'd hate to not have the chance to laugh with you in person.

All the best....Karen

Karen, did you book 2010 too? Everything is fine. I had just booked several 2010 trips the day pricing came out since we weren't sure which one we wanted to do. We decided to cancel the T-giving trip. The price was so much higher than what we'll be paying for next year's trip, and I would really like to try some new ports. What I really want is to sail on the 11 night Christmas cruise in 2010. Its a pricey one, so we'll have to see how the budget looks. Plus, my mother might disinherit me if we go away and leave her at home over Christmas. If we don't do the Christmas trip, I noticed that the new RCCL Oasis is cruising the Eastern ports over Thanksgiving 2010. I'm thinking of that cruise as a back up. Its quite a bit cheaper than Disney + it would be something different, even though the ports are the same. Don't know what I'm doing planning trips 2 years out when the economy is crappy. I must be nuts!

For 2009, I know my group has 4 of the SPH rooms, and Chuck and Lisa have one, isn't there someone else in this group that has the last room? We sailed in a SPH on our first cruise and loved the room and the location. :thumbsup2

I still have one for the 11 night Christmas 2010 trip (5020 I think). Am hoping we'll be able to do that one.

Karen:

Glad you and Andrew are getting along OK. We are thinking about you and wish you a speedy recovery.

Hello everyone:

We are heading to Disney for Thanksgiving on Saturday.. Does anyone need a postcard or anything from the land of Mickey? Just let me know and I will take care of it.

How many of sailing on the Turkey 2010? We have looked at it, but may only be able to do the Magic once a year, if it is a holiday $$$$$$. We have booked a 3 day Wonder - Feb 5 -8, 2009 and the price was right.

I think our gang should try a four day together....

Jodie, I was thinking that you had cancelled the '09 Turkey Cruise. Now I see my mistake. Guess it was all those pain meds (wink, wink) and not my idiocy that made me miss it was 2010 that you cancelled.

I'd love to hear the details about the Oasis of the Seas cruise...lord knows Andrew would love to cruise on one of their new ships!

Karen

Has anyone looked into this special for Disney Cruise ! We have seen on another thread that this is getting a lot of attention.

We are going to check it out.

Wendy
