Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

Karen-

We are not huge fans of Nassau either. However, we have enjoyed our trips on the Wonder!! It is great to be on the ship while many passengers are in port!! :thumbsup2 There are no lines for lunch, plenty of chairs at the pools, etc. Also, the 2011 Dream has 2 stops at CC!! :thumbsup2 That is my favorite cruise destination!! It more than makes up for the stop in Nassau!! :thumbsup2

Happy Hannukah for all who celebrate!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 This is the first night of eight.

We lucked out w/ DVC, we were able to book a studio at Saratoga Springs for Christmas weekend!! :thumbsup2 :cool1: After the weekend I will need to go home and work since I used my time off for this year. :sad2: Chuck and Mason will be staying in Orlando for the Champs Bowl (UM vs. Wisconsin). Go Canes!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Yes, 2 stops in Castaway Cay make up for Nassau....but what gripes me is paying the port charges for a port that is that awful. Guess I'm just tight there.

Happy Hannukah to your family (and others who are celebrating the Festival of the Lights)!

So nice to have a computer with a card reader...just uploaded over 200 pictures from the cruise to the computer - for us that is a lot since Lisa usually just buys them...oh wait, we did that too...anyway, I will let Lisa play with uploading to this site later...got a few good ones with some of the kids, especially and not terribly surprisingly, Lindsay.

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday.....

We spend the weekend trying to relax a little bit...

We did get all of our photo put together.. I want to share them with everyone....

Is the best to upload to facebook or a photobucket ??? I am working it out.

Hope everyone is enjoy the holidays....

We have made a dent in our holiday shopping and decorating.

We are looking forward to some time off at the holidays....

Well, looks as if our family is joining the H1N1 crowd.

Rachel threw up before she went to bed last night, and woke up w/102.6 fever. She was supposed to have taken two of her four final exams today too.:scared1: She's taking tamiflu now, and is feeling somewhat better, but still too sick to go to school. What next? We've never been sick during finals (Rob or me) and never even thought of this happening to Rachel. Rob called the school and is waiting for a call-back. I hope she doesn't have to wait until after the first of the year. She was looking so forward to school break being stress-free. Bummer if she has finals hanging over her head when she goes back.:sad2:

Well we will be in Orlando visiting the Mouse for the holidays and then staying for Miami bowl game (Mason and me are staying anyway)...hopefully I can win the debate about where to go on the 25th...I want to avoid Magic Kingdom in the worst way b/c if you have ever been there on a day where they closed the park to more people (generally Xmas and July 4...and we have been there July 4) it really is not much fun as you can barely move....That said Happy Holidays to all...

Chuck:cool1:

Priscilla,

I'm so sorry. Please tell Rachel we said to get well soon. The good thing with Tamiflu is that she'll feel better in about 3 days.

We hope that Rachel feels better very soon!! :wizard:

Catching up....

Sitting here through a snow storm -- predictions of up to 2 feet!

For those of you who live in the south - I'm a little envious right now. The weather in St. Thomas was to be 83 degrees today. Even Orlando was supposed to be 65. Surely beats our 20. Oh well -- it will melt one day....

in March, maybe. :rotfl:

Hannukah has been fun for the boys. I got my present last night - an iPhone. Of course, nothing like a cold, snowy day for me to play with it later.

I've started going through my pictures too. It'll be fun seeing what everyone else has.

Thank you.:)

She IS feeling better now, but will have to take ALL FOUR finals when she goes back to school.:sad2: Guess this is still better than being sick on Christmas day though.

Hi all,

Well, Andrew got the stomach flu on Thursday night/Friday morning. Steve got it last night/this morning. So far my "mommy immunity" appears to be holding....PHEW!!!!

So, its the 20th, I still have loads of Christmas shopping to do. The basement is about 3/4 of the way renovated...the piano movers come tomorrow (and no, I'm not ready) and DH has the nerve to begin throwing up last night....WTH! Yep, we've got 15 people coming for dinner on Thursday...my tree is barely decorated, not one present wrapped (and I'm beginning to think they may stay that way)...oh...and I've got 50+ client records that have to be entered into the most cumbersome system in the world by Monday.

Yep...situation is normal here :scared1:! Just glad we missed out on the snow and I'm sorry for those of you that got pounded yesterday.

Take care all.

Karen

Hello All

We have just dug out of the snow... We shoveled snow for two days...

We were without power for a couple of days... It has been whiled around here.

I hope everyone is starting to feel better.

Wendy

Well we actually turned on the heat, briefly, the past day or two...but today it is back in the low 70's...

Chuck:cool1:

We hope everyone is feeling better and that the weather is cooperating!!

Found out at work today that "early" release on the 24th won't be until 3pm!! :scared1: :sad2: It is usually noon or 1 pm. Soooo, while Chuck and Mason are enjoying Disney, I will be fighting traffic...and will still have to drive 3 hours by myself to meet them. :sad2: Then, I have to drive back home sunday and will have to work all of next week while Chuck and Mason stay in Orlando, enjoy Disney and the UM bowl game. At least Mason and Chuck will have a nice long winter break!
