Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

Hi all,

Unfortunately Andrew is ill. My mom called me today and said that he had a 103+ degree temp. He aches all over, has a stuffy head and a small cough. We're heading to the pediatrician tomorrow morning. My hunch is that he has H1N1 -- but I hope I'm really wrong!

We miss all you guys a lot!

Karen

We hope Andrew feels better very soon!! :wizard:

It could also be the just the flu. (Nothing really 'just' about that though. It's still miserable feeling having any kind of flu.) Sending pixie dust and prayers his way. We hope he feels better soon. What a lousy homecoming for him.:sad2:

Andrew -- feel better soon. Keep thinking all of those Magical memories and pixie dust so you can get better quicker. What a horrible way to return from vacation.

Daniel started coughing last night and we're watching him like a hawk.

Thanks everyone. Steve is going to stay home with him tomorrow and then I'll be here on Wednesday. Thursday is up in the air at this point. I'm really hoping the Doc says it's just a cold.

Ah well...I think on Wednesday we're going to begin sorting through photos and such. I guess I'll have to try posting photos again. I will email out to folks the ones that I think you may like.

Take care everyone!

Oh no! That sounds like what I had. Tell him uncle Chun is going through the same thing. Except I also have a severe headache, chills, and fatigue.

Went to doctor this morning and confirmed I have the flu, but not H1N1. Started taking Tamiflu yesterday so hoping for a speedy recovery.

Miss you all. Please stay healthy!

I'm trying to get caught up at work, so not much time to post, but I did want to post my sympathies for Michelle. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am hoping that everyone who has been sick since the cruise ended. I am not exempt from this group. I have been dealing sinus pressure and headaches. I had them before the cruise, was fine during the cruise and then get them back when we got back here.

When we got on the FL turnpike, it became a parking lot in a hurry. We took backroads to get home. The reason: Florida-Florida State football game in town. It took us over 4.5 hours to get home when it usually takes 2.5 hours.

I hope everyone got home without incident.

Is anyone else here EXHAUSTED?

I returned to work Sunday morning at 930, and the store was insanely busy. (Then I was told, "this is nothing, you should have been here Friday and Saturday."):faint: No, thank you.

I'm also trying to get the energy to put up the Christmas decorations.:santa: Instead, I want to sleep.:rotfl: Rachel was very tired on the ride to school this morning. Shows what a great cruise it was though. Very well worth it all.

Priscilla

Priscilla, I crashed Saturday night around 9pm. It could have been earlier, but I talked to the in-laws. I even went to sleep Sunday night around 10pm, which is still early for me.

Hello Everyone!

Sadly I didn't get to meet many of you on the cruise. I found Mickeyhugger and Laura.

We all had H1N1 the week before we left (thank goodness it was the week before!). I was so exhausted I am not certain how I got DS and DD to Orlando!

Andrew...hang in there! I hope you DO have H1N1 (I mean this in the nicest way)and make a full and quick recovery. As I understand it, this is the first wave. The second will come end of Dec. The third late Feb/early March...and if you're going to get it now is the time because they are saying each wave will be more severe!

We basically cocooned as a family on the cruise because the day before we had H1N1 symptoms, we were told that DS will have to have heart valve replacement surgery. This came completely out of the blue - no symptoms. It has been surreal and shocking but the cruise came at the perfect time! I am certain he will be fine. He grew an inch and a shoe size on the Magic. I think another cruise will be in order as part of his recovery protocol!!!!

Thanks to all of you and your fantastic input to our holiday. MVMCP was wonderful. Our excursions were great and FYI...Discover Scuba does take 10yo's...Disney was...wrong:scared1: DD and I still had fun Snorkelling! AND the Disney Magic was MAGICAL. We loved seeing the Wonder and still getting to Castaway Cay. We even like that we have a story about the engine...we could smell the smoke from our room and saw the HazMat team in the hallway!!!

We enjoyed the door magnets we saw in the halls and are glad to hear you all had a great time too.

Sympathy is extended to Michelle - tough news.

Thanks again to everyone!

Leslie (izma..spelled wrong)

It was so nice to meet other Diser's. It is always so nice to place a face with the name. Thank you to all of you that participated in the FE exchanges. We had so much fun looking at all of the awesome gifts we received.

So sorry there are some of those you are now sick. Hey, I did my sickness pre-cruise with the H1N1.

Again, what a nice group of people we met on the cruise. I hope you all have a wonderful holidays.

Must admit that this thread feels much more like "home" than the existing 8/16/11 thread...maybe we should just keep this one going..
