Is turkey bacon available at any of the buffets? Chef Mickey’s? Tusker House?

Tusker House told me no the last time we ate breakfast there. Being Jewish I ask everywhere we eat.

I know with the number of Jews and Muslims in this country who go there I actually thought it would have crossed their minds years ago.

Well, they all do have non-pork items on the buffets, it's just not in the form of bacon.

I go to Tusker House on every trip and I never touch the bacon - not when there's corn-beef hash and beef bobotie around (also the ham with that sauce, but that's pork). I can have bacon any time.

I just figured since bacon and sausage are two of the most popular proteins of breakfast in the US, that they would offer alternatives such as turkey bacon or turkey/chicken sausage. Agree that there are plenty of other options on the buffet but I was just curious.

No, I get it. It would definitely make sense at the buffets that only basically serve American style food. At some of the more specialty food venues, like Tusker, I don't see the need. Actually, I often wonder why people load up on bacon at Tusker and don't even try the African specialties. That section of the buffet is always the least crowded. Hey, suits me, as that's pretty much the only section I hit!

I haven't had trouble getting Turkey bacon at resort quick services and Ohana. Maybe ask the chef?

You got turkey bacon at Ohana's? They once made me a steak after saying they didn't have it (of course that was years ago).

I would think this would fall under dietary restrictions. Isn’t there a number you could call ahead of time to request turkey or chicken breakfast meats? We had friends request kosher meals (this was a few years ago) so I’m sure they weren’t eating bacon for breakfast.

Good to know, thank you!!

I will definitely look into this, thank you!

Not a restriction, but I prefer well seasoned turkey sausage any day over pork - not near as greasy. All that grease turns me off. At home I always drain meats well.

Usually, I just skip the breakfast meats - except ham - but will remember now to ask if turkey is available.
