NOTE: The Turf Club is a bar-eatery inside SSR.
It's somewhat small, but is OK because it gets few
guests. The luncheon sandwiches are very tasty
and fairly priced, but the dinner entrees are average
(think: Applebees) and very overpriced. (C'mon, pasta with
shrimp for $20 ?) We prefer to make a meal of the
appetizers and desserts, which are quite good and
reasonably priced. By the way, the Apple Crisp and
Lemon Pound Cake are great. Now, if we can only get
the slow wait staff service to speed up.

Personally I really like it there! I would agree with the PP that the appetizers are better than the entrees, but we have always found the atmosphere very realxing. You can walk there, but it feels like a bit of a hike. You can also take the boat from DTD to SSR and it drops you off right outside of the restaurant.

I had the Prime Rib this past trip. Here is a pic for you.

It was really good, but really fatty. DH, and my 2 SILs got the prime rib two times each last trip and they loved it!

Everyone's tastes are different, but if you ever want a relaxing dinner while you're at DTD you should make the trip over to SSR. It's one of the easiest places to get a reservation for too. It's rarely busy there from what we've found.

If you are looking for great prime rib, I would suggest Olivia's at Old Key West  I have had it twice and both times it was outstanding :yay: I also loved their Olivia's potatoes and the sauce on the prime rib is amazing :dance3:

I personally LOVE Turf Club! We always try and eat outside on the patio. Its a nice quiet view and during the cooler periods, they have heaters above the tables. I've never had a problem with the food or service. Its not Victoria and Alberts, but I think the food is tastey. I think the best part is how quiet it is- you're right by LBV Golf Course and the waterway to DTD. We make a reservation every trip!

Is the prime rib worth it? Can I get there easily if I'm in DTD?
Thanks

Is the meal worth a TS credit or even a single DxDP credit? Yes. Paying oop.....maybe not. DH liked the lamb chops. I liked the warm apple crisp and asking them for the vanilla port wine ice cream on it rather than the plain vanilla.

Getting there? Technically you could walk, but my feeling is that I walk my feet off at WDW anyhow; if WDW offers transportation, I use it. You can get to SSR from DTD by bus or by boat. The boat is more fun.

Hubby loved the Prime Rib so much we are going back on our next trip.

The boat ride from DTD is quite nice and will get you right to the restaurant.
