We won't be hitting any parks during our quick 3 night stay at SSR starting 6/16, but want to have a couple of nice dinners at the resorts or DTD. We like the idea of not having to drive and was hoping to get some good info regarding the Turf Club. The menu doesn't look extensive, but seems to cover the basics (meat, fish, pasta, ha!). Can anyone provide any recent reviews?

Thanks,
Lissa

We ate there during our March trip and thought it was great. There were 10 of us in our party, so we ordered quite a variety of food (burgers, steaks, chicken, vegetarian entree) and everyone was pleased. We are going back to SSR in August for a no park trip, and we definitely plan to eat at Turf Club again.

Thanks Mouseclick,

I was looking for recent visits and yours was pretty recent. I'm hoping to hear more positive reviews. It's my DH 50th and we want to make sure the food is good.

Thanks for posting.

The lamb entrée I had at TC this May was the best dinner I've had anywhere on WDW property in 5 years! :thumbsup2

I'd recommend sitting outside on the terrace as the inside can be anywhere from noisy to overwhelming. We had a screamer (not getting into any further details) at the table seated next to us - fortunately this was near the end of our meal. I wanted to sit outside but DH wanted inside (and he now regrets it).

Love the Turf Club-ate there during Christmas week. Very good food, really nice atmosphere with low lighting, which gave it an upscale sort of feel. Our server (Christian) did a really good job.

We really like the Turf Club. Love the atmosphere of the lounge. Get there early and have a drink before dinner. The service was great, very friendly. The food was very good. I recomend the Salmon!

We had one of our best Disney meals ever in terms of the quality of the food at the Turf Club. Bear in mind that we aren't "foodies" so things like California Grill and V&A's are totally off our radar. But when it comes to the midrange restaurants, we've tried most of them and The Turf Club really stands out.

I had the Angus cheeseburger and my wife had some sort of beef dish (steak, prime rib.) Both were excellent.

We ate on the terrace and I have to say it was a little humid. This was back in May '07. They'll probably ask whether you prefer to dine inside or outside when you arrive, so be sure to take the weather into account. It didn't feel terribly hot as we walked to the restaurant, but the setting sun was hitting our table and it got a little steamy as the evening wore on.

Server was excellent, too.

We love the truf club and eat there every time we go. The food is just great. My FIL has gone 4 times this year and HAS to eat at the turf club at least once every visit!

Wow - I am so happy to hear raves about this restaurant. My DH has always wanted to try it, but we didn't want to be disappointed. I think we'll plan to have dinner there our first night. We pick our DD14 up at cheer camp at UCF that day so we'll all be together for our special dinner.

Thanks to all who have replied so far.

hi there, we were there sept/oct 07 for 14 days and went to turf club the 1st night, starters very good but dh and i both ordered steak with mushroom side not relising this meant they would but a blue cheese sauce all over the steak, it wasnt to our taste at all and really spoilt it for us. Dh said he wouldnt go back however in our 2nd week we decided to give it another try and we were SO glad we did:) again starters were great we got crab cakes which were FAB:love: DH + DS ordered pasta with chicken both loved it, i had salmon which was great. Dh then had apple pie and i had lava cake both to die for, DS didnt get anything as was waiting to go to artist palette for a cookie. We then went back for out last nights meal and CANT WAIT to go back again this year no doubt will make a few visits. It great being able to sit and chill in the bar area 1st DS loves having a game of pool and theres a lovely area outside as prev mentioned by other although we sat inside eachtime. Only down side is it closes at 9pm for food, we return to resort one day and about 9.15 pm and intended going that night then remembered it would be closed and ended up getting back in the car and going back out for food. Hope you enjoy we did!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

I was very pleased with this place as well. I had crab cakes and the salmon. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was nice too; very relaxing.

We ate at the Turf Club twice in 2006. I really liked the salmon.

Given the choice I would pick the Turf Club over Wolfgang Puck's Cafe over at DTD. Love the WP Express, but really disappointed in the sit down place.

We had cheeseburgs, and they were out of this world...we are there for lunch...it was worth it....the sauteed green beans were pretty darn good too!!

Eleven of us went to Turf Club, and all ordered something different, DS (12) and DD (6) included. Everything was wonderful. My FIL ordered a prime rib that had to have been 20 oz. Seriously, it was HUGE!!! It reminded me of one of those steak houses where they bring out the steak and if you can eat it all, they'll buy it! Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend it. If you do decide to go, be sure you make reservations. It's not big and though we were there on Spring Break, we wouldn't have been able to eat there had we not made reservations.

Also, save room for dessert. We ordered the cheesecake and the Lave Cake (I think that's what they called it). YUMMMMMMMY!

If you go, hope you enjoy it!!! Definitely a :thumbsup2!!!

:thumbsup2 Turf Club is without question one of our WDW favorites! We have had excellent service and wonderful food both of our times dining there. Enjoy!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2
We eat here at least once a trip. My friends liked it better than Le Cellier! We ate there twice at their request.

TC closes early, I think 9:30pm.

The Turf Club was fabulous.....we actually ate there twice the last trip it was so good.

I cannot wait to dine there again. Do a search on my name and you will find a post about it with pics from our meals....it still makes my mouth water looking at the photos...:)

One of WDW's best kept secrets so far (not after everyone reads all this!) - I'm always able to get quick ressie there - we just ate there on May 30th and called an hour before, got in no problem. Love taking the bus to DTD and then the DVC ferry over to SSR - drops you off right beside the Turf Club. We all had the angus bacon cheeseburgers, some with fries, some with onion rings - sooooo good! Not a large menu to choose from, but very good. Last summer we had the pasta and shrimp, also very good. Definitely eat there!

We think the TC has the best mussels in all of WDW. We go there each visit just for them. The pasta with chicken is great. Everything we have tried there has been excellent. We were there in May and before that Feb. when we brought fellow DVCers with us. They had never been. They felt the service and food were excellent and appreciated "not being rushed".

I'd recommend sitting outside on the terrace as the inside can be anywhere from noisy to overwhelming.

This has never happened to us!
My first thought to my reply was how quiet and relaxing it is. So many restaurants are loud in Disney. we choose the Turf Club because it is NOT!

Its a meal you can sit down and enjoy, relax, the atmosphere is great, the food is great :thumbsup2

The Ribs are the best anywhere in Disney :lovestruc
