We went to the Turf Club for lunch the other day and I kid you not, it took 2 hours for our meal. It was just my husband and I so not a huge order or anything. There were 5 tables with people and 4 waitstaff and it took FOREVER for anything. If they went to refill your drink, they were gone at least 15 minutes. The other tables were having the same issues with service so I don't know what the deal was.

It was our first time there and the food was really good, but we hesitate to go again because the service was so bad. I was wondering if this was an off day, or if this is pretty typical of how it is.

We have only been there once and I usually refer to that as "the time we had the worst waitress in the history of WDW". :lmao: But that would not stop me from going back since our food was quite good, and many others rave about both the food & service. My experience was about 2-3 years ago. But when I came back and wrote my trip report, I remember that I was really ranting and raving about it still - weeks later - it was that bad.

I really don't think it's typical there from what I have read - just you and I had bad luck or something.

I've only been there once myself. It was for dinner and we were in and out in about 45 minutes. Waitress was very attentive. It was almost quicker than I wanted, but I'd prefer that to your 2 hour ordeal.

It was painful! And it did not help that it was our last day there so of course there were a million things that I wanted to get done that day.

I am normally really laid back about the service time in restaurants but this time, even I was getting upset.

Maybe we will try again....but we will make sure it is not a trip with the kids. At least it was just my Dh and I this time and we did not have to deal with impatient little ones....

We only went once when we were staying at SSR. It was slow I remember, not as bad as it was for you. I wouldn't go back though. Nothing special IMHO.

We've never been there. We had this identical experience at the Brown Derby at the Studios back in 2007 (although the food wasn't great either) and we've never gone back. I was thinking of going to the Turf Club but now I'm not so sure.

We went last July and it was wonderful - the food and the service. It is definitely one of our favorites if not our favoriite. We are even thinking about having our vow renewal lunch there.
