I'm looking at WDW in Google Earth and there's a waterway that goes from the Lagoon at MK to the Wilderness Lodge area. But the road that goes by the Contemporary to TTC disappears and reappears - is that a tunnel?
Thanks.

Yup, the road goes under the waterway there.

Same thing at the canal from EPCOT to the resorts next to Beach Club.

Yes, it's a water bridge (or navigable aqueduct). Different engineering from a tunnel, and rather rare.

Civil engineers tend to find it cool that WDW actually has three of them. (The third one is backstage at Epcot.)

:) Yep, you are right about that!! DH is a civil engineer and he was pretty impressed when we first found out.

I do have to say that the MK waterbridge has held up remarkably well considering its almost 40 yoa.At least.Considering its been hit several times by trucks and other equipment..
The one over Epcot Resorts Blvd and the one backstage Epcot, both leak. The MK one doesnt. Its also the only way, to get the ferries and larger watercraft to maintainance.

Where is the backstage one? I tried to find it on Bing Maps, but couldn't see anything that looks like a water bridge.

I believe it's the Avenue of the Stars route...runs next to the Epcot Resorts route, but goes behind WS and Epcot.

Ah, *that* one. It's right next to Epcot Resorts Blvd, so I just thought of the two as a single bridge.

It is but at the same time not. Theres actaully a canal that separates ECR and AofS. It looks like one, but its actually 2.

Easy to see this via the bird's eye view on Bing Maps - two underpasses, one overpass.

That whole walkway area is one of my favorite spots at WDW - just knowing how the road is so cleverly hidden below me, with a really cool resort behind me and my favorite park in front of me, it's magic. I liked it even better when I could look off to the right and see the images of Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong on the walls of the ESPN club.

How many folks would pick a mere sidewalk as a favorite location in WDW? And you don't even have to pay to get there!

Ive been over that bridge several times, and each time, I forget that I am over land until its too late.
