hi all,

I know for most of you tuna salad can be the most basic thing to make...
somehow I find mine is just missing something.. but do not know what ...

How do you make your tuna salad ?? (any tips??)
please post your tuna salad recipes ...(yeah , i know it sounds strange...but I need to perfect my tuna salad making...)

TIA

I just made some yesterday.

I use elbow macaroni
chop onion- small
miracle whip (i hate mayo)
sweet peas- i like canned- my mom likes frozen
tuna- of course
hard boiled egg -chopped (i also made egg salad)
I also season to my taste- salt, garlic powder, season salt, and a little pepper

This one sounds good! You could also add some green olives and some Cheddar cheese cubes. Instead of elbow mac, we use the small shell macaroni. :thumbsup2

Sounds great.. I will have to try this.. BUT

can I leave out the eggs... I have some picky young kids around
and some will NOT eat eggs...

another question... just put all these ingredients together ..mix and serve ??

or should I put it in the fridge for a while ??

You can leave the eggs out. My DW doesn't like them either. :confused3 I would mix everything together but the Miracle Whip. Take the Miracle Whip and add a little milk, or better yet half & half, to it. Mix together and then mix into the rest of the salad. I would refrigerate it for a while.

You eat that on a sandwich?? I thought the OP was looking for tuna salad recipes for sandwiches.

I make a very simple tuna salad, just like my mom taught me, but it's really good. No exact measurements here. I just do it the way I like it.

Tuna
Miracle Whip (I too hate mayo)
some sweet pickle relish
a splash of the juice from the sweet pickle relish jar
a little bit of salt
a little bit of celery seed

I think the pickle juice and celery seed really "make" this recipe.

Mine's all seasoned to taste: salt, pepper, garlic powder etc. But, I also add a little sprinkle of sugar.

I've never heard of putting macaroni in tuna salad. It sounds good, I might make some today for lunch.

Mine's kinda basic:

1 - canned tuna
2 tsp - mayo
2 tsp - pickle relish
sugar to taste

I use canned tuna in water instead of oil and drain it very well!

Have a great day u guys!

I can make Tuna Salad low sodium or regular: start with a low sodium tuna, like Tongol.

1 can of tuna
2 hard-boiled eggs
half a dill pickle, chopped fine
1 celery stalk, chopped fine
2 TBS mayo(give or take)

Serve with stoned wheat crackers and slices of apple.

If you want it to be low sodium, leave out the pickle and add 1tsp dill. Serve on lettuce, rather than bread.

I use tuna, chopped celery, chopped dill pickle, maybe a bit of chopped red onion, a teaspoon or so of Dijon mustard and a couple of tablespoons of mayo. I prefer mine savory as opposed to sweet.

The tuna salad they serve at school has pimentos in it. I think it really adds a lot to it!

I do a very basic tuna salad. I chop some celery, some onion, drain the tuna, flake it with a fork, add the celery & onions & some mayo--just enough to hold it together. Since it's got mayo, I put it in the fridge. But I like it cold so that works for me. I love it on toasted rye bread, with a slice of tomato on top.
