While the rest of the family is off playing in the Water my DH is going to the ruins. Right now he is booked for the DCL excurision unless someone lets me know of a better way for him to do it. Also I would be thankful to anyone who has done the DCL trip for any information they can give us.

For the ruins I would do the ship's excursion. Dave and I did it Jan. 2001 on a Carnival tour . We just rode the ferry across to Mexico and rode the tour buses (air conditioned) had the tour but instead of following the guide we just walked around on our own. The guided tour tells you all the history etc. and since Dave did this tour with our two 17 yr old boys in 2000 he said he didn't need to have the guided tour again. This was my third time to Cozumel and I was glad we did this excursion, it was hot but worth it. I did make sure I had bottled water from the ship. Kathy

Thank! Also since he is the only one in family doing it I think he would be better off with the DCL tour. Do you have any idea how much time or what part of the tour is to a beach? He is not really a sand and salt water person. He likes his ocean when he is on it in some type of a vehicle. When he went with us to the beach last year in St. Martin, he took pictures and sat under an umbrella. He never even took off his sandals. He is proof that there is something for every one in the carribiean. He even loves Hawaii, just not beaches.

For any trip to Tulum, I strongly suggest the ships tour. You can rent a car or a taxi and go, but if you have car problems and do not get back to the ship in time, you are out of luck. If you are on the ships tour and you are delayed, the ship will wait for you.. There are lots of tours that we do on our own, this is not one of them.

Actually the beach part is optional. Right below the ruins is the beach area. I am assuming this is the beach part of the tour. Some people go on the tour but bypass looking at the ruins. If you go to our web site you can view pictures of Tulum and I know in some shots you can see the small beach. www.tecenv.com/thompson The cruise's with Tulum are the Imagination 2000, and the Imagination 2001 Just pick the cruise button in the header and the list of cruises pops up. Tulum is really pretty. Kathy
