Is the TTC walkway at the Poly currently open?

Which room would you request to avoid construction noise during the quiet pool construction?

Is there any other construction at Poly still ongoing?

I was reading some other closures and noticed it said the walkway was closed but you can still access TTC along the sidewalk I believe.

Last I read the TTC walkway is closed. The villa construction is completed with punch list items still being worked on and some minor landscaping.

The pool next to the villas is closing today for major construction.

Tahiti and Rapanui are away from the new construction.

The walkway between the Polynesian and the Transportation & Ticket Center has been open since March 30, 2015. We were at WDW in May and took the walkway a couple times. Its less than a 5 minute walk from the monorail platform to PVB. By the way, the Pago Pago longhouse is the DVC longhouse that is closest to the walkway.

Here are some photos of the walkway between the TTC and the Poly.

Start of path from the TTC side:

The path is not that long and you cross an access path just before you get to the PVB side:

This is the first thing you see after walking from the TTC:

Work is just beginning on a major renovation at the Poly's East Leisure Pool. Also, the Samoa Longhouse -- which is NOT part of the DVC -- is having some exterior work being done on it. The Samoa Longhouse is on the side of the East Pool opposite Tokelau. These are the only major construction projects that are going on at the Poly at this time. Disney has filed paperwork to do some renovations in the kitchen areas for the Kona Cafe and Ohana's Restaurant; however, its doubtful that guests will notice much, if anything, of the any kitchen renovations occurring at the Great Ceremonial House. I haven't heard when Disney may begin work on the kitchen areas.

The PVB villas that may be affected the most by the East Pool are those on the west side of Tokelau (the side that faces the East Pool). The Tokelau Villas on the east side (facing away from the pool) probably won't be affected. None of the villas in either Moorea or Pago Pago should be affected by the construction.

I'm not current on my reading in the last few days on all closings, but I was on property at the Villas at Poly last week and at that time I definitely saw that the TTC walkway was open. Wdrl's pix show it beautifully! Thanks, wdrl!! :thanks:

It was here on the DIS that I read about the walkway still being closed - guess it needs to be updated.

Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read on the internet -- including my own posts!

Is there more than one walking path between the Poly and the TTC? If so, maybe the other path is still closed?

By the way, I finally found my photo that shows the start of the path at the Poly going toward the TTC.

We are staying at PVB in November and I hope to compare how long it takes to ride the monorail from the Great Ceremonial House to Magic Kingdom versus walking to the TTC and taking the Express Route monorail to MK. My guess is that it will be faster to go to the TTC.

Let's see who do you believe wdrl or the internet? My vote is wdrl, I checked a couple of other sources and they say that the walking path has been re-opended.

Hmmmmm - everything on the internet isn't true? Say it isn't so!! :rotfl: Now I'm going to have to check the DIS to see how long it takes to change because that path looks very open. :goodvibes

Just back from the Poly. The walkway (the runs from Pago Pago to the TTC) was definitely open yesterday afternoon.

Lots of other construction still going on around the property. East Pool is now closed -- fences and other barriers went up yesterday. There is some construction on the east side of the Tokelau building that blocks some of the walkways. Also some cherry pickers between Samoa and the Lava pool. We didn't have any issues with noise, but we also weren't in our rooms much during the day.

I, too, can confirm that the walkway was open yesterday.

Wow so much uncertainty on such an important point. Someone needs to sort this out. If everyone puts in a couple of dollars I'll volunteer to go check it out :):)

I was on Poly property today and can also definitely confirm the walkway to the TTC was open. It is located at the TTC end of Pago Pago. Interesting that it seemed the DVC end of the Poly property was the one with all the construction issues and suddenly the 3 DVC longhouses seem to be the quietest, least bothered by construction! The western facing rooms of Tokelau notwithstanding since I believe they look out onto the quiet pool that has just been fenced off. I saw those cherry pickers that DCDiva mentioned as well.
