TTC thread take 2

Just took an EPT and got nothing. No response at all. Not positive, not negative. Nothing. Ho Hum!!

Hi, I'm pretty new here and just found this thread today. Congrats to all of the positives, and good thoughts for those waiting.

My husband and I have been trying on and off for almost four years. I have PCOS and have been trying hard to lose weight. We've had four failed Clomid cycles (three with no ovulation and one ovulation but no success), and right now I'm concentrating on losing weight before giving Clomid another try or pursuing further intervention. At the beginning of February I had my first non-induced period of the last year and a half, which gives me some hope that the weight loss is helping.

Glad to have some people to share with!

Angelhalo and BELoveDisney - keep us posted! Hoping for good things!

Welcome andapanda! This is a great group of ladies here!

My second beta was 871 - so a doubling time of 45 hours! We don't go in again until our first ultrasound on March 6. That seems so far away.

First of all, I know this was stupid to do, but well...I did it anyway.

I can't remember if I told you all that I had a positive opk on Monday and did iui number two on Tuesday. Opk on Tuesday and Wednesday were negative as I expected. I didn't test on Thursday because I already had my iui and didn't want to freak myself out. Here's where I went astray...Friday I did another opk because I'm an idiot! :upsidedow It was positive. I should have stopped then, but No...that makes too much sense. I took another one on Saturday. It too was positive.

I'm now completely freaking out about what that might mean. So far all I've come up with is that I messed up the timing.

Has that ever happened to anyone else? Positive opk followed by two very negative opks followed by two positives? Or are you all too smart to keep testing when you shouldn't?:lmao:

oh no :(
could you have called the clinic to do another insemination this weekend?

Also, which ovulation tests are you using? I used to use the cheap ones where I had to squint at the lines but this month I'm going to be using clearblue fertility sticks(with the smily faces) plus clearblue fertility monitor(once AF finally shows her face)

Lots. :lmao:

clearblue fertility monitor (my doctor says it's unreliable...more about that in a minute), cheapie internet ones, and first response. The cheapie internet ones I bought because the first response ones are really expensive to use multiple times a day.

Last Monday, both the first response and the internet tests were positive, but the fertility monitor didn't give me a peak. I figured two positives were pretty good confirmation and disregarded the high reading on the monitor. I did that because the monitor has been wrong before. It once told me that I ovulated on CD11. I didn't actually ovulate until at least a week later. I don't really trust the monitor anymore.

GREAT NEWS!!!! CONGRATS!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Keep us posted- are you re-testing? Thinking good thoughts for you!

Tomorrow is my Dr. appointed testing date so I will re-test tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement :)

BEloveDisney - yes, that has happened to me before. After one of my IUIs this summer I had read online somewhere that positive OPKs can indicate pregnancy. I didn't have any HPTs at home, so I tested with an OPK and got a positive. I can't remember why, but it has something to do with estrogen level I think.

I did not end up getting pregnant that cycle - but I read a lot of stories online in my obsessive Googling where girls ended up getting a BFP with positive OPKs. Either way, I do not think you are starting to ovulate again. I know I wasn't when I got that positive - I think our hormones do all kinds of strange things during medicated cycles that don't make any sense. If you are nervous about give your doctor a call and see what they say!

An opk can function (sort of) as a hpt because LH and HCG are very similar in chemical structure. HCG has an extra part of something...I think..or its the other way around.

My cycles aren't medicated so whatever weird thing is happening, my body is doing on its own. I'm glad that you don't think I'm ovulating again though. That seems like it wouldn't be conducive to pregnancy.

I thought about calling my doctor, but I feel like he'll just tell me to wait until next week to do an hpt. Honestly, if I were him, I'd tell me the same thing. :)

Love those numbers!!!!

Welcome Andapanda!!!

Angelhalo, best wishes for tomorrow:hug:

Officially negative. We even did a double iui this month. :sad1:

So sorry. Each negative is so hard.

yeah. Each one is "the worst one yet". We have exhausted the number of times that my doctor likes to do iui's. We have a meeting with her tomorrow to see what she wants to do next and when to start etc etc.

Hey gang! I hope everyone is doing well and progressing towards BFP's!

I had an appt today with my RE. We decided to do one more round of IUI with different injectables this time. If that doesn't work then we will move to IVF the next month.

I really don't know much about IVF so I'm a little nervous. Any girl's wanna share their experiences with IVF?
