TTC thread take 2

Well, my dx has discovered the problem.....

In lamens terms, my body thinks it's a guy. No, seriously. LOL. I make too many male hormones. My dx is putting me on metformin to regulate my AF and male hormone level.

Oh, and I'm insulin resistant. (My body doesn';t make enough insulin) Just like mom. That's another reason she put me on metformin so I won't develop diabetes.

The fibroid has grown slightly and I'm having yet another ultrasound Oct. 19 to see what's going on in htere. I go back to see her March 1 to decide what to do.

She said the meds will make me drop weight just like that and it has been known to help in ttc, so she told me we could go on ahead with it.

I feel better about it now. I'm going to stay on the diet and keep taking my blood sugar. I'm going to take up an excersize class too. I have so much energy!!!!

Wow! That's alot of information to find out in a day! Very positive! I've heard of insulin resistant which sux big time! Sheesh those damn glands!

Went shopping today online just for me. Usually, I buy for other people, but this time, I felt I deserved a treat.

I got a gift certificate from one of my employers to my fave beauty shop, Lush for $25. I bought:

Rehab Shampoo (for color treated hair)
Rock Star soap (smells like cotton candy)
Stepping Stone foot rub (I have rough feet)
9 to 5 facial cleanser

Hey there Momma! Sounds very cool about the hybrid option. If you can find a link that talks more about it I'd love to read it. I just found that same site a few days ago myself! What a coincidence!!

It makes me nervous that these people are so far away and mailing meds out, so I didn't act on anything I saw.

But I did manage to save over $800 today!! Bought some meds from a girl who is pregnant from her IVF and had money leftover. I asked my IVF nurse if they had anyone else on the 'selling meds list' and they did. Then when I called the nurse to let her know to take that girl off the list b/c I got hers, I got a good surprise. A sales rep had come and brought a follistim vial today...so the nurse is giving it to me!! I just have to pick it up tomorrow. Hmm, $4 in gas to pick up $261 of meds for free. Yep, sign me right up.

This morning I had felt so distraught about the money because I wasn't sure if we were gonna "make it". Then everything just fell into place. I feel blessed!

Oh and the moral is...definitely ask your dr office if anyone is selling medicine or anyone has donated. I had asked my nurse about donations too, and she said no one had--the only time that really happens is when people's insurance pays for 100% of their meds. It made her remember me though, when she got that follistim today. I'm sure she has other patients, but she is saving it for me! It pays to be nice, and to ask questions and inquire about saving money. It definitely can't hurt!

Hey sister! How'd your tests go?

You mean Wednesday's ultrasound and bloodwork? They kicked my meds doses UP, hence why I had to buy more and was concerned about the price. I'm basically maxed out now. 300 follistim + 300 menopur (4 vials). I had to buy enough meds to get me through TUESDAY, due to the holiday. I have my next appt Saturday. My dose might go down then, and I'll end up with meds leftover. I'm thinking that's what's going to happen. But couldn't risk not having enough meds in case I stay on this high dose.

Praying for a ton of eggies Saturday!!!

Got a lot done today. Mom came over and helped me pack up a lot of our stuff to our new place.

I was kind of bad today...I split a pizza with mom. I ate three slices of pizza. I was starving after working all day! Ate a little chocolate dad dropped off for us too.

Blood sugar: 99. Not too bad. I just wanted pizza from my fave pizza shop, pizza hut so bad!!!!!

That was my day. How was yours?

I had a great weekend. We were supposed to go to the Chicago Suburbs to see my In-laws, but I threw a tantrum lmao: )and ended up not going! I have been really stressed and my kitchen was torn apart because I have been trying to reorganize it. I really wanted to get it done. I think I really needed a time out to get my head together. I think it worked!


I have my injection instruction appointment this week. Kinda excited about that.

Gabbie, it too me a while to get used to the Metformin. I would have severe stomach issues if I didn't eat properly and at the right times. Also, I had headaches for the first few weeks on it. I hope you are lucky and don't have any side effects, but I know most people do have a few. Good luck!!

Yup skuttle, my dx warned about the stomach issues. For me, it's an issue since I have IBS. My dx said she could have me try another kind of med, but there's a risk it can bother my seizures. Ah...no. PLus Metformin is on the $4 plan!

I hope everyone had a good labor day weekend. We had a first birthday to attend (very cute smashing of the birthday cake), and then I spent the weekend cleaning and doing yard work. I fought a war with the crabgrass in our backyard... but the crabgrass won .

Morning! Hope everyone's weekend went well!

Gabbie ~ Yahoo on the move! How exciting I used to love getting ready to move because it was a great opportunity to weed! I'm hopeing that the week of October 3rd I will be able to take off so I can get my house in order for the fall and winter! Keeps your fingers crossed for me!

Cher ~ How's it going lady? Hope Saturday was good for you! Can't wait to hear.

MommaS ~ The needles look scarey but they are not as bad as they look I promise!

KG ~ I cleaned out the solerium in the basement yesterday while watching Horders. I swear if I could have chucked the whole darn room including my laundry room in a big garbage thingie I would have! Cleaning and watching that show can definately give you a complex

Well summer cold has hit and my throat is on fire! I also got a cold sore this am so I took a 1/2 a valtrex so I am waiting before I take my dayquil. Between my synthroid, acidopholis; prenatal vitamin and the valtrex I thought that adding the dayquil may have only made me sick so I'll take it soon as it's been almost 3 hours since my morning pills. Sheesh I'm not a good sickie.

As of yesterday I have 14 follicles growing. After last wednesday and they upped my dose, I stayed on max dose of both my injects until yesterday. I had another appointment yesterday and they brought down my follistim from 300 to 250. With the menopur staying at 300 -- oh did I mention that stuff BURNS?! But all worth it

Tomorrow is my next appointment. It looks like the retrieval may not be until this coming weekend. I was originally hoping Friday but things are moving a little slower than expected. I am trying to be patient b/c I do want all those little follies to have mature eggs come retrieval time!

Well, I'm crossing my fingers and toes that after last nite.......

I may be going to WDW preggo.

Without going into the details, it was a spontaneous thing involving our new house and some brewskis.

So, now the waiting game begins again.

Other than that, we're finishing up the move this weekend and we're done!

Then, I just get everything ready for us to go to WDW/DCL! Yay!
