We are going to be there in just over a week and I'm wondering where the RD is for TSMM with the walkway between Bug's Land and Grizzly Mountain blocked off. Is it over by ToT or is the only way to TSMM now over by the Little Mermaid ride?? I'd just like to have an idea of what to expect.

Thanks!!!

The rope drop line will be in two places, right where the Paradise Pier area splits off to the right -by the little mermaid right and the left on the bridge over by Ariel's Grotto, so you can line up in either place. Seems the left is a slightly shorter walk to TSMM, but most of the folks going that way headed right to TSMM.

So....do you walk past GRR in both cases to get to the lines?? Or are they diverting some of the traffic around ToT and through Bug's Land??

Just FYI....I've been to DCA many times (we go at least once a year) but I'm just not sure of what way to turn to get to TSMM with the main area closed off and the new Mermaid ride. In the past, we have actually just gone up past GRR and used that RD since it seemed to put us ahead of those at the main RD. I'm just wondering how to get to the main RD now and if that is the quicker way or if I'd still be better off going past GRR.

Oh and sorry....one other question.......it seems last time we were there that GRR had to FP machines working while the rest were WOC (I could be totally wrong here) is this the way it is working now? If not, what time can I expect to get GRR FPs at??

Thanks again. There have just been so many changes since we were there in November that I'm having a hard time keeping up with them all!!!!

Yes, you should plan to go the GRR route. I honestly don't know if the walkway thru Bug's Land is open or not, we didn't even try to get over there before 10. It's definitely the longer route even if it is completely open to walk through. But even if you could- the cut off points for the Paradise Pier area is going to hold everyone in the relatively same spot- it's just 50 feet of separation between the two directions. The shortest route will be to line up at the rope one the bridge heading towards Ariel's Grotto (we went the other way, and I saw the folks beating us to TSMM from that route)

It's hard to say exactly what the routing will be like, as of August first Burrbank ICe Cream/the Bakery/Engine Ears toys get closed down and start to get removed, so expect more new construction walls in that area. They may direct all rope droppers only to the one side but for sure you should be able to get thru to condor flats and then up around to GRR. It's going to dump you off by the rope drop spots either way you choose to go.

I hope someone else can definitively chime in about the WOC/GRR fast pass issue. In April they did NOT have GRR FP up and running until after WOC fast passes were gone. However, others have reported the they had a couple GRR working and WOC FPs working at the same time. We didn't try in June, so I don't know how it's been going for the summer. Worse case, if you get in, on your way to rope drop, stop at GRR and ask the CMs how it may be working that day.

Thank you so much Teddibarra!!!! That helps immensely!!! I knew that we'd have even more construction and that we'd most likely be let into DCA next to Soarin'.....I just wasn't sure of what the TSMM RD would look like. Now I know what to expect!!!! I really appreciate it!!!

And if no one else chimes in on the GRR FP question.....I'll just do as you mentioned and ask.

Thanks again

When we were there a couple of weeks ago there were 2 different queue's for fastpasses for woc and grr.

A few things.

It is possible to get from the main gate to the Paradise Pier rope drop area by two different routes. One goes by ToT and Bug's Land, the other by GRR.

The GRR route is shorter.

If you arrive at 9:30, either one will get you to the area near LM, and there are ropes up there which don't drop until 10:00. There are ropes that cut you off from the walkway that goes towards Goofy's Sky School, and also ropes that cut you off from the walkway that goes towards CA Screamin'.

IMHO the CA Screamin' route is much shorter than going around the lagoon. We went around the lagoon a couple weeks ago and MANY people got to TSMM before we did.

Fastpasses for WoC are distributed at GRR. Early in the day, they only have WoC FP. At some point (probably around 11:30, maybe noon) they switch three machines over to GRR, and at that point there is a separate entrance to those machines (closer to GRR). Eventually all WoC FP are gone and then all six machines are GRR FP.

Thanks for the clarification. I might as a CM what time the FP machines change over to GRR. I know that we are going to want to get drenched on that ride a couple of times!!!!

And thanks for the info on the TSMM.....I knew that they had access to TSMM via past ToT and through Bug's Land but not sure if that would be a path for RD. I'll take whichever one will get me belly up to the rope that gets me to TSMM first!!!!

Now when you enter you go around GRR to the west past the light tower. The rope is at the bridge going towards Ariels Grotto. When I last went people on the right were walked in to TSMM. People on the left where let in after to all other attraction. The middle was left semi clear for people going to breakfast at Ariel's Grotto.
