TSMM refurbishment?

I was just looking at the calendar for Aug 24 (our first day in the park) and it looks like TSMM will be down for refurb. Anyone know anything about this? We expected HM to be down (which it will be), but hadn't heard anything about TSMM going down.

HM closes in late-August to have the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay installed, so it is one of the rare fairly-predictable closures at DLR. Other attractions don't follow as regular a closure schedule, so it's possible that TSMM is going down for just normal operational maintenance. It could also be a glitch on the Disneyland.com website. Until closer to the date, it's hard to say whether the schedule is accurate or going to undergo revisions.

It would not surprise me, I have not heard of that one being down for a refurb for a long time, and all the rides get worked on at some point during the year...

We will be there right around that same time, and I was wondering which of the major rides would be down. At least TSMM is similar to the Buzz Lightyear ride in DL, the kids won't know what they're missing!

Now if they refurbished RSR while we are there... the kids might view that as a tragedy.

Hopefully it's only for a day or two.
Maybe the park map on the internet will have the dates listed soon.
I see the Blue Sky Cellar is set to re-open Oct 2nd

I am hoping it is only for a day or two, and not the whole time we are there, since the kids were really looking forward to it. Usually, I feel like we hear rumors about refurbs, but this one seemed to come out of nowhere, although I think there had been a rumor last year about a refurb, so maybe they just pushed it out.

It may not be accurate -- at this time (and I just talked to a CM at DLR) they don't even have information for 8/22 and 8/23, so anything appearing after those dates may not be accurate. It could be a glitch, as figment_jii said. Wait another week and see if the TSMM closure is still there. We are literally right at the 6 week point, and it's still early enough to where things are being tweaked on the calendar and may change over the next several days.

Not sure if this is helpful or if TouringPlans is simply projecting the end date based on the last possible calendar date on Disneyland.com, but they have the closure from 8/25-8/27:

Wouldn't it be great if they were doing a Halloween overlay? I've never understood why they never update this ride as it is probably has the most flexibility of any attraction at the resort.

When TSMM first opened, I recall reading a couple of articles or blogs somewhere or another, and it was stated that Halloween-related dialogue and Christmas songs and banter had already been recorded for Mr. Potato Head, for when Disney eventually switched TSMM to Halloween mode or Holiday mode.

Of course, TSMM is now 7 years old and we have not seen any kind of overlay. And back when I read that information it was when the Halloween Party was still being held in DCA, so perhaps a Halloween-themed TSMM would have made more sense at that point. I don't know why they haven't busted out the Christmas/Holiday overlay yet, however. It was just last year that the Enhancement Team finally put up some garland and decorations in the TSMM vicinity, whereas that specific location of Paradise Pier had been kind of lacking in holiday cheer.

I wonder if the plan is now to wait until Toy Story 4 comes out in 2017 before doing an overlay. Or perhaps Disney will wait until the TSMM ride at DLR is 10 years old, in 2018, to do an overlay.

Wouldn't it be great if they reconfigured the queue to allow for a FP line?

You list 03/31/15 - 09/30/16 - Innoventions..??... I had read somewhere it's scheduled to re-open 9-30-2015. Is it truly 2016?
You could be correct. Since nothing's been announced at this point, anything is possible.

Same with the Tomorrowland Theater...random dates.
