TSMM and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

I love the Buzz ride. It might have something to do with me maxing out my score at Buzz and barely being able to hit anything at TSMM. I like being able to see where my laser points and being able to turn the ride. I enjoy the more spacey feeling to the Buzz ride and it feels like it was taken directly out of Toy Story 2. I don't like the carnival theme as much in TSMM. I do enjoy the sensory effects in the game, but I'm not a big fan of the visual 3-d experience. I don't see it well.

They are similar in the same way that Big Thunder in Space Mountain are similar.

Our family thinks they are similar and definitely prefer Buzz. We'd skip TSMM if we had to ride standby. Most overrated ride at Disney except perhaps for Soarin.

I'd have to agree with the majority of posters. When we visited 2 years ago, TSM was one of the first rides the family went on, and remains a favourite, if not the favourite, of my daughters (then 7 and 11) and wife. Due to crowds we weren't able to get on the Buzz ride until the day we left (we lucked out with TSM on the first day - early morning and all). Anyway, we were not impressed with the Buzz incarnation at all. I found it hard to see where I was shooting, and it was just not as immersive. I'm sure it is half expectations, as I thought it would be similar.
