TSMM & A2S at rope drop

I was able to get a Fastpass for SDD for Saturday 4/13 so I will be rope dropping the other two toy story rides. 1. Would I still need to be in the front of the pack at rope drop or is an 8:30 arrival for a 9:00 opening ok?
2. Touring plans has it taking almost an hour to do A2S and TSMM at rope drop, does that sound right?

We arrived at security around 8:15 and were waiting with the crowd about 10 mins later...we were at the intersection with the road that leads toward 50's Prime Time (sorry I don't know all the names of the areas in this park.) We were led back just after 8:45 and were not the fastest people by any stretch. We made it to A2S at 8:55 and were walking into TSMM at 9:06, I think the posted wait time was 20 mins. We were finished up in time for our 9:30 SDD FP. This was on Monday, 2/4, an EMM day.
