TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

The only time I think ride access should be denied is when there's a malfunction. If I want to stand in line forever, that's my choice.

But it's not your choice. It's Disney's choice. It's your choice whether you want to vacation with them given the conditions they set out.

I thought A&E and Soarin' were SB+ with the return time cards? Or am I totally remembering wrong? lol

They have since done a fp+ only test with a&e at the end of september. Don't think they've done it to.soarin yet.

I would share this in its own thread so others there next week could have at least a little heads up just in case it does.mean.another test is.coming.

I agree-plus you can be sure some folks will gladly volunteer to go over and report the action for us.

Some "advance" notice will surely help everyone obtain better/more information. :thumbsup2

Wasn't that pre-debunked when FP+ only was previously tried at A&E and Soarin'?

Some have speculated in this thread that this test this week at tsmm could mainly be about gathering data for adding a 3rd fp+ only track. If they run the same test at sdmt, I think it is safe to say it isn't about adding an additional track. There isn't room for that.

The problem is they aren't setting.out these.conditions until you arrive onsite. People who booked their vacations for this week didn't know when they booked, or when their cancellation date passed, that this TSMM and BOG test would.be happening. No one knee until Disney started it. You can hardly say people there now knew and agreed to these.conditions when they chose to vacation at Disney.

I will disagree if there are FP+ available anyway. Although you can certainly sit there until that time comes up I suppose.

I think they did do one at Soarin', but they called it off after a few hours.

Otherwise, they would have had a near riot on their hands and Disney tends to frown on angry mobs. ;)

Yea true, I still wonder if they could have moved the time up from 4:45-seems like others have been able to. Then can they try for a 3rd, or even after 4:45 DD could have gotten yesterday.

But how many have already been told that all the fps are gone? They did that on other days so who's to say the same isn't happening today. And what about those that have fps for this evening in mk. Should they have to give those up to ride tsmm?

Took right at 20 to get through the line so in and out around 26-27 minutes. Was able to secure another for tsmm at 445pm but will likely let it go. Need to head towards Epcot around then for Fuel!

Precisely where I thought it was heading next.

And I agree that I think this debunks the theory that this was all about TSMM and that third track.

The only question in my mind is whether it will be installed on all the most popular rides or if they are just researching how to handle the onslaught in Norway.

:thumbsup2You change the rules in the middle of the game, you better expect people to call you on what a crappy thing that is to do.

Yes. And apparently the condition they set is "We're going to do whatever the heck we want, guests be damned."

I think it is a possibility the major headliners (A&E, Soarin, TSMM, and SDMT) may go FP+ only eventually. Why in the heck Disney would ever think that is a good idea, I don't know.

But I can see them making that idiotic decision to go along with all the other idiotic decisions they seem to be making lately.

I just looked over the list of "Benefits" of staying on-site on the WDW site.

It really is starting to look, well, lame.

Wifi? Dining Plans? Complimentary Resort Transportation (that even non-resort staying guests can use).....

The only substantial perks I see remaining are EMH (which are slowly being reduced) and ME (which benefits Disney as much as it does me).

I suppose there might be some point in the future where they are going to have to beef up that list of "Benefits".

I couldn't agree more that on site benefits are pretty thin right now. People pay a fortune to stay at the nicer resorts on site and not getting a lot of bang for their buck to do it.

EMH are to be avoided these days. I don't consider them a perk, just notice to go to avoid the park that has them. We haven't done an EMH in the morning in years. They used to be good, but with all the new resort capacity they built, they aren't.

But even breathe the notion that there should be extra benefits added for on site and off site guest have a cow over it. Just take a look at the uproar over BOG fp. Sorry, but it's about time on site got something for their money besides transportation to the resorts.

Regardless, the perks for paying $600 for something you can get for $150 offsite should be significant and they aren't.

That will be for the eventual 7DUT
(7 Dwarfs Utilidor Train) :lmao:

Don't know if this means anything scary, but wanted to share something odd from today at MK. We were in the FP line for SDMT, and the CM Asked us if we would be here next week. When we told him yes, for the first part of it, he handed us a small stack of rider switch passes for SDMT and said, "you might need these." Hope that doesn't mean it's coming here next.

Oh no. This is not good at all. I hope it is over by the 19th

I wonder if Disney is thinking it will take away the complaints of the teirs at epcot and hs and about not being able to get a sdmt fp at all

Some version of this test--with no standby option--has been done twice at A&E, once at Soarin', and now once at TSM. I guess you can lump the BOG thing in there as well. The prior tests, among other things, are why I've been dubious of the TSM third-track test idea.
