Just checked in on Southwest and mine says "TSA PRE" in the upper left. So does DS16's pass.

But DH and DS14 don't have this on theirs.

Never dealt with this before at all. So one son and I can do pre-check, but other two have to go through regular security? Or can I bring DS14 with me?

Or since DH has to go through regular line anyway--at least that's what I assume--should we all just go with him?

You can only bring kids 12 and under with you through the precheck line. your husband and 14 year old son will need to go through the normal line.

Southwest is kinda funny about PreCheck .... (They all may be too)

When you book your ticket, they give 1 shot at the database .... If you are listed (and seen), you're gold. Otherwise it won't list it.

That said, when you check in, it may update. It has for me.

You can always call and add it/verify it.

just flew another airline

flight out I did not get PRE altho have had it almost always in the past. Mrs DID get it

coming home, we both got ....

unless you pay for it .... it is hit or miss .......

on the good side .... from Orlando the other day the PRE wait was 5 minutes or less and Mrs pretty much walked straight thru, and the regular line was 10 to 15 .... and I was thru in less than 10 ..... no biggie .....

I've had it while others in my family didn't. Now that I've paid for it, for 5 years, it seems that everyone on my reservation is getting it. Really weird. It's happened for four out of four flights in the last 6 months.
We shall see what happens when three of us fly SW out of Provudence in a few weeks.

Just started another thread about the pre-check as I now have it but DW appears to have not been approved. She has had it the last several trips with SW, so not sure why she may have been denied. Supposedly a letter is on the way to us so will know for sure.

Random pre-check is a funny business....

On our last trip, DD9 got TSA-Pre...but the rest of us didn't. She was all excited, bragging and feeling all specia:snooty:l...until I told her it meant that she'd have to go through a separate line, by herself, and wait for us to go through the regular line. That burst her bubble:joker:...

We only fly once a year (if that) so I'm not interested in paying for the 5-year Pre-check program. On top of that, we typically fly out of GRR or FNT, both of which are small enough that pre-check doesn't really save that much time. The only time we'd really "need" it is on our return trip out of MCO...and that's just a waste of money to buy it for one leg of a trip that takes place once a year.

My wife had it once when I didn't. The lines at our airport were short and I made it through before she did even though I had to take off my shoes and belt and had a computer. I should have handed her the bag with the computer so she could take it through TSA-Pre and not have to remove it from the bag. She did get through the line at MCO much quicker than I did.

If one has TSA-Pre and the other does not, the TSA-Pre person should carry any items that would be a hassle for the others and is within limits (e.g. laptop and ziploc bag with liquids).

If you actually have paid for PreCheck and gotten your Trusted Traveler number, you should add your info to your Rapid Rewards account; that's where they store it. If you got the number after you purchased your ticket, you need to call SWA and ask them to add it; they will do so over the phone and then you can re-print your boarding pass, it will be on the new one.

Random is random. No way it can be counted on.
As far as buying precheck goes....how did your procedure go? I completed an online form, then told to make an appt to meet with a rep in person. There I had to make payment, answer a few personal questions and be fingerprinted. I was told I would get word as to approval in 10-14 days. I got word later that week.

Was that pretty much your experience?
