TSA and Garage Door Remote?

I think the op plans on using it from 35k ft to open random peoples garage doors using the same frequency on the ground as they fly. Might as well have some fun :D

:lmao: That would be more fun on the final descent just before landing. You made me lol with that!

We have a security system in the house, and if it is armed, the only way we can get into the house is through the garage. Our garage door opener doesn't have a keypad outside--it was a do it yourself type. But, we have a door to the garage that we can enter.

Been taking the garage door opener for years with us. We never use the front door either.

Seriously? Ok.If there's a power outage? Dh just pulls the door up.
Not exactly sure why it bothers you do much if someone carries a garage door opener in their bag tho. That seems a little curious.

It doesnt really bother me but now it makes me re-think having a door opener knowing that even with power anyone who wanted to break in could just go to someones house and just pull the door open? I thought you have to pull the disconnect rope that releases the system from the door then you could in fact pull the door open.:confused3

If the door is connected to the opener, you can't manually pull it open, power or no power. The opener "locks" the door.

Right so if you need to manually open it during a power failure you have to pull the rope to disengage the mechanism correct?

True...however, I didn't think I had to put in all our particular 'steps'. We have a spare key hidden in our back yard. If there was an issue with the garage door, we would get out of the car, trek to the back yard, get that key, trek back, and open the door. It would take a lot longer, but we would be able to get in if there were to be a power outage.
