I am not on a special diet and do not want to bother to ask for special requests food; but I am wondering if the TS restaurants have any simple steamed vegetable sides available?

I recently had a kidney transplant and even though I don't have to follow a certain limited menu.. I am trying to make healthier choices! (and also trying to lose some weight , which is not easy on some of the meds I need!)

It depends. I remember that certain restaurants such as Raglan Road, Le Cellier, and a few others offered usually a vegetable of the day (could not say whether or not it was steamed) for about $5. Usually beans, broccoli or the vegetable medley if they had something.

Have you looked at allear.net/menus?

Hope this helps some. :)

generally, the entrees come with a starch (potato, rice or noodles) and a very small serving of veg...like a couple of stalks of asparagus, or 2 piece of broccoli. Not much of a veg, almost more like a veggie decor!

The rule of thumb we've encountered (having eaten at more than 50 of the Disney World restaurants) is you will be allowed to substitute like-for-like. So if your entree comes with garlic mashed potatoes, and you don't want that, you can chose the starch that comes on a different entree at the same restaurant. Like the chicken might come with risotto...they'd let you sub the potato for the risotto. Or if the bit of green veg on your entree is green beans, but another entree comes with broccolini you can swap those two. In other words, if it comes with your entree you can swap for the similar food that comes with another entree.

What they won't do is trade the garlic mashed for anything on the menu that's listed as a separate dish with a separate price. So, for example, if asparagus in cream sauce is listed as a side dish and priced at $5.00, you can order that separately (and pay for it) but you will not be allowed to substitute that side dish for the garlic mashed that comes with your entree.

Clear as mud, right?

All you can do is ask at the individual restaurant. If they can accommodate you they will.

Thanks... Like I said it is not necessary... and I will be on vacation so i am not going to go crazy about it... I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
