Ok, I admit it is my fault. This will be the first time ever we are staying on site and I simply had not anticipated how big the demand for ADRs would be. I remembered last week to make our ADRs for September 11th to 19th and all I managed to get was Boma for one night. Fortunately this was the one I wanted the most. Are there any TS restaurants on Disney property that don't do ADRs meaning we probably have a chance getting a table on the day? There is just my DH and me.

Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club!! You can easily walk there from Epcot & it's wonderful! :goodvibes

If you head there either right when they open (11:30am?) or mid afternoon, you shouldn't hit that much of a wait.

For the other places that take ADR's, call everyday because there are always cancellations. Also, walk-ups are definately more successful during lunch time.

Are you on the dining plan?

There is the new Wave restaurant over at Contemporary.

Also..try the restaurants over at the Swan and Dolphin, they are fantastic.
Il Mulino, Blue Zoo you can't go wrong with either. (no dining plan taken)

For breakfast the Swan has a wonderful buffet restaurant, it even has disney characters on the weekend mornings. (no dining plan)

Raglan Road in downtown disney is very good.

Typically, you can walk up to a restaurant and try to get seated.

Enjoy!

ESPN Restaurant doesnt do ADRs and Beaches and Cream and DTD Rainforest Cafe I haven't heard issues of people getting into most of the Swan and Dolphin restaurants but they arent on DDP :)

Ask the conceirge at your hotel to help you out. They're usually good about getting you sit downs, as long as you can be flexible.

Add ESPN Club & Big River Brewery (both over at the Boardwalk) to the list of restaurants that don't take ADR's.
Planet Hollywood takes ADR's for certain times (depend on time of year) but we've never had a problem getting/changing an ADR there.

Also, walk-ups are definately more successful during lunch time.

Oh, I hope you're right. People have been saying no walk ups, but I kinda don't like making too many reservations and being tied down to them. But hopefully if I stick to lunch I'll be fine. I was planning on doing most of my table service meals at lunch anyway, I just like the bigger meal in the middle of the day.

Thanks for all the tips. We are definitely willing to be flexible. We have decided against the dining plan. We just were not sure if we would get value out of it. We will stay at OKW so there is a good chance that we will have one or two meals at Crossroads. We also have a day at Seaworld planned and will have dinner that night at our favourite restaurant on International Drive.

ChelleinNc this is totally off topic, but I'm in Indian Trail. I was just so surprised to see someone on here from my neighboring town.

Also, its easier to get ADRs and walkups at the resort restaurants rather than ones in the parks. You might not be able to walk up to Le Cellier, but you might be able to walk up to Yachtsman.

Try resort restaurants. They usually have availability. Double bonus is you get to see what the various resorts look like.

Oops, didn't see that the above poster said the exact same thing!

I only tried for resort restaurants as DH is planning to have a no park trip. No luck whatsoever with the exception of Boma.

No parks -

OK, well, definately try Raglan Road at DTD - very good food and service.

Captain Jacks at DTD is also very good, depending on how much you like seafood.

ESPN is usually pretty easy to get into as long as it's before 9p. After that the line gets a little long.

What about Kona Cafe at Poly?

The Wave may be busy because it's new, but I'd give it a try anyways.

Keep calling you never know what might cancel.

Show up early, at opening time, and ask what the chances are of being seated... early walk ups have a better chance in our experience.

I know that in the guest services desk at EPCOT they post restaurants with available ressies for the day on a board when you walk in. But if the one you want says its full try going up to the counter at guest servies and just asking if they have an opening. Last Feb my DH and I had ressies for 2 at Le Cellier that I had made 6 months in advane. Then we found out his brother and sister-in-law would be joining us and we tried for 4 months to get a table for 4 for dinner and couldn't! Then on a long shot we walked up to the counter and asked if they had an opening and they did for 6:30pm!!!!! you just never know!

I've always had luck calling Disney dining from my hotel room or going down to the lobby concierge for making same day reservations. Even at places that were turning away walk ups. Since you aren't doing the DDP I also reccomend trying out some of the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin

Thanks again for all the help and advice. I feel a lot more confident now than I did when I posted this yesterday. We have traditionally always stayed on International Drive where restaurants do that take advance reservations as a rule and there was so much choice. If one restaurant was too busy we just headed to the next. This is our first on site vacation and I just want it to be a success.
