TS places for Meat and Potatoes Lovers?

Any Ideas on good TS places for lunch and/or dinner that are not too gourmet with a lot of special sauces and things you can't pronounce. We are on dining plan and were disappointed last time in the choices at some places (ie, CRT for Lunch ) Any suggestions in the parks or resorts will be helpful! Thanks

Le Cellier in Canada in Epcot for dinner. They have a FANTASTIC mushroom filet. Great steak. Great beer. Great dessert. Not to fancy.

Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch at MK (not a character meal at lunch) has a good basic menu.

Prime Time also has a good basic menu (pot roast, fried chicken, mashed potatoes) at the studios.

I had the filet at California Grill that had some fancy sauce name (tamarind sauce or something) and truthfully it just tasted like a plain old steak to me.

I would also recommend Le Cellier.

For regular meats (not a steak), Liberty Tree tavern has a Thanksgiving type meal. Also, Garden Grill has nice family style meal - pork loin, flank steak and fried catfish. These are listed as having some fancy sauces, etc. but they were pretty normal.

I know what you mean. Many of the TS places at WDW don't offer the plain, simple food that we like. However, we loved Whispering Canyon Cafe. Everything was great!! Also Planet Hollywood had a lot of choices to suit our tastes. And if you're like seafood, the Cape May Cafe at the BC was really good too!

This would make a great Thanksgiving Day meal. But I believe that everyone thinks the same thing, so it is hard to get. Make sure you make your ADRs as soon as you are eligible. It is a character meal too. When we went there, we saw Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip, I believe. They were dressed in Revolutionary War outfits.

50's prime time is just great, pot roast to die for as well as good ol' fashioned meatloaf, and fried chicken. (check out the menu) Le Cellier is excellent a little upscale but the best steaks around. Melissa

my family and i do not eat seafood or any "fancy" food we are definately a simple food kind of people. we love liberty tree, cape may cafe...they do have other food except seafood, prime time, chef mickey, crystal palace,
mama melrose is good if you like italian, le cellier definately, espn on boardwalk(good for a relief lunch from epcot for a bit in the middle of an afternoon) tusker house in ak, whispering canyon in wl, why not go to
allears and look at some menus before you make a choice. have a magical time.

Try the Chefs de Paris . . .the menu may read "Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir, gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts," but it is one of the best pieces of tenderloin and ymmiest potatos that you can find!!

My DH is a meat and potatos, burgers and normal Pizza (Papa Gino's) kind of guy and announced that at every meal last trip before he ordered so as to get the plainest steak or prime rib or to get the waitress to give him advice on what to order!!

We ate at California Grill, CRT breakfast AND then dinner, PSB, Mama Melrose, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Le Cellier.

On our last day, he said the best meals were at Chef Mickey's and CP!!! I think he thought the Castle dinner and Le Cellier were ok with a plain prime rib but he wasn't all that impressed. He definitely didn't like the menu at Calif Grill.

In previous trips, he did enjoy other buffets like H&V, He also liked LTT and 50's Prime Time.

How about the Concourse Steakhouse at the CR? 'Ohanas at the Poly is good too!
