TS lunch same day availability in late August?

We're considering DXDP this year for late August. Plane lands around 8:30 AM (Thursday) but don't want to make a lunch reservation in case of delays. What are the odds of getting the Parade package at Tony's or Skippers Canteen for lunch if we try to grab an ADR on the app on the way from the airport? We'll have to check in at resort and activate APs at the park, so an off time would work.

I'm not sure about the parade package, but I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting an ADR at Tony's or Skipper's day of, in late August.

I think the parade package approaches zero, but also keep in mind that Plaza is walk-up only after noon.

Parade package, I'd say no. Skipper Canteen is growing to be pretty popular from what I've seen but it's always possible that there will be a cancelation. I would have a back-up plan though. The Plaza, as pp said, is walk-up only after noon so you could go with that.

Something I also always point out -- even if it is truly a "lower crowd" time, restaurants have fixed maximum loads for the day. Capacity doesn't exapand for high crowd season, and rarely contracts much in low crowd season. So same-day can be unpredictable regardless of season.
