TS Fred followed by Grace …ugh!

Even the official forecasts for these tropical storms/hurricanes change frequently, so predictions for more then the next few days are simply guesswork and likely to be wrong. A lot of random variables can impact where they go and none of their models will ever be that accurate. The track of Fred continues to move further west and now will mostly be in the Gulf of Mexico while it was originally shown as impacting most of Florida. This tends to happen with every storm they track. Those 24 hr weather shows need to fill up the airtime with something so they tend to ramble on and on even when there is nothing to report. They show pictures of a few trees that happen to fall on a house or business and make it sound like the entire city looks that way.

Actually, they're beginning to move Fred's predicted track back to the east. Last night, they had it coming in right on the Alabama/Mississippi line, now it's predicted back just east of Pensacola. Who knows what may happen in the next 36 hours?

I do—nothing! Even if Fred made a right turn right now and headed for Orlando it would still be a big nothing burger. Standard summer rains are worse than it.

Last year we were there during Isaias....I think it was a TS by that point and forecasted to make our one day pretty miserable. We trudged on and figured we would make the most of it. That was the forecast THAT MORNING when we left our hotel for the parks. We ended up with a little bit of a breeze, overcast skys for the better part of the day and a 20 minute torrential downpour around 10am. It was a Sunday so I think it kept a lot of the locals away too. That was it. Nothing else. So glad we didn't change any of our plans....they can't even predict the weather that day.

We did get stuck on a cruise during Hurricane Irma....and been there through many TS and Hurricanes. That was the only time we ever had a major issue.

Just remember to keep your eye on the models. It's really the most accurate way to predict.....

Neither Fred nor Grace had much to do with disrupting Disney visits although it might be an issue with Fred if you are flying to or from Atlanta today... Fred a bit of rain and Grace was distracted by Mexico. Henri is just doing donuts around Bermuda. Maybe there won't be another following for a while...but it is still peak season.

they can't all be like TS Erica which fell apart at the last minute over Cuba, and almost everyone had gone home because she was supposed to be on the way, so the parks were empty.
