TS for CS, Can It Be Done?

This has probably been asked 27,000 times before but I did a search and was unable to find a clear answer (maybe there isn't a clear answer). Is it possible to use a TS credit for a CS meal? And, if so, is it a one for one trade or do you get the CS and a snack for the TS credit? I think I read that somewhere here. I don't know if I'd attempt this, but it'd be good to know just in case.

Yes, you can use a TS credit for a CS meal. No, you don't get a CS and a snack for 1 TS. You get exactly what a CS credit would get you. It's definitely allowed; the CM might just look at you funny!

Ok, thanks. I realize that it's a dumb move value-wise but there have been times when we don't want the TS meal or to show up for an ADR and would just rather get something CS.

I know exactly what you mean. We used a couple of TS credits at WPE in DD and the CM asked us twice if we knew what we were doing.

Well, at least using TS credits at WPE is wayyyyy better than using them for burgers at Pecos Bill's. Not a bad idea either, thanks.

I was wondering the same thing, and this is great to hear! SO and I are planning to have a nice dinner at Jiko with just the two of us and using TS credits for that, but that will leave our DS with an extra 2 TS credits since he will be served dinner at the kids club. The extra credits will help us spread out our CS meals the rest of the trip so we don't end up paying OOP for anything other than our planned TRex meal.

just a note...they will only trade child's TS meals for child's counter service meals...which are fairly small meals. Just so you know when planning out credit usage.

it can be done but its not a good idea. if you have extra TS credits I would suggest going to a dinner show, which would use up your extra credit. Or of course you can go to a Signature restaurant too to use them up.

We had the dining plan Sept. 2009 and it was announced that you could use TS credit for CS for the week we were there ONLY, due to problems overbooking TS. They specifically stated that it was not something that could normally be done. Just want to make sure this is accurate so that people do not get stuck and end up not able to make reservations when they are there.

Positive. I've done it, and know many others who have. It's like FastPass return times. Everyone knows you can return later than the "window" and get on with your FP, but the CMs tell you it only works if a ride goes down. Also, there are many times CMs say things that we all know aren't accurate. Just ask someone about the entry time to MK with a hard ticket . . .
