What suggestions does everyone have for a TS dinner with two boys ages 8 and 9.

I am taking my brothers down for SWW and we will be using the QS dining plan to eat our meals on Saturday and Sunday. We will be in Orlando early Friday afternoon. I wanted to take them to a fun dinner Friday night as a surprise.

Does anyone have any good ideas? I'm not interested in RFC or T-Rex this trip though. We are passholders so park admission isn't an issue. Anything even outside of WDW we should try?

Thanks in Advance!

You might get a better response for off-site restaurants on the off-site thread.

I would think the Sci-Fi would be fun for boys that age. I know my DS5 was just in awe of the place. The 50's Prime Time is fun too!

How about the Biergarten in Epcot?

I agree with pp...Sci-Fi is great for that age group and since you will already be at DHS. Problem is getting an ADR for it. I had problems, but you never know...

True!

Getting a car can be tricky! ::yes:: Will it be just the three of you? Hate to be dishonest , but you might want to ask for a car for four. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a car for 3?

Biergarten is my absolute favorite place in the whole "World", unfortunatly they do not agree:sad1:

It has been a while since we've been to Sci-Fi. That could be a good option. Thanks for the advice...

Sci Fi has always been a favorite of my son and daughter's. Since they were the age of your brothers, we have been going there and now years later, they still love it! They also enjoy Prime Time and the character meals. Chef Mickey's has always been a favorite of my son's. But really any character meal is fun for kids that age.

Also, I don't see a problem with getting a car at Sci Fi for three people. Two will sit in one row, one in another. I have seen odd numbered parties in cars many times. Odd numbered families aren't that odd so they are used to it!

Getting seating in general is difficut at the Sci-Fi. The cars obviously cannot be re-arranged. They have cars for 4 and 6. I don't know how they assign them for parties of 2 or 3. I just know regardless of party size, it's never easy getting an ADR there.

I just realized you want this for SWW. You might not be able to get an ADR at the Sci-Fi this short notice. I do wish you lots of pixie dust! :wizard:

Sci Fi has recently become even harder to get into. For years it wasn't so bad (at least for me and we have eaten there all 12 trips but maybe we have been lucky), since its not part of the Fantasmic Dining Package it didn't seem as popular. On SWW and the days Fantasmic runs, all place in MGM are tough to get into, Sci Fi very much included.

They genearlly seat more than one party in a car of six. For my family of four, we always get the first two rows, and then usually a party of one or two is behind us. They always try to put kids in the front row so they can see better. We have almost alwyas sat in a six seater with somebody else. Since you are looking at the screen, its not really that noticeable to be sitting with strangers. Parites of three either get two rows in a six seated car, or both rows in a four seat car. But yeah, this one has gotten harder to get into, for my upcoming trip, even at the 90 day mark on the dot, I got the last dinner they had for my day and its for 4:00 p.m. So yeah, its a tough one for sure.

And I do agree that if this is for SWW, its going to be next to impossible to get into anyplace in MGM. For this short notice, most ADR's all over WDW will be tough.

One place that might work for the OP is the Trails End Buffet. Very inexpensive and its fun to go over to Ft. Wildnerness. Its also pretty easy to get into.

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned O'hana at the Poly....They do activities: coconut races, hula, etc., and it is very festive! Plus dinner comes to the table so it's more relaxing than buffets.

Chef Mickeys for buffet.

If you do trail's End buffet, don't forget that there is a sing-a-long and campfire at 7pm (check the time) and then an outdoor movie by the Meadow Trading Post (I think it's called)...there is a chuck wagon with marshmallows for roasting and franks and stuff. Maybe you could do dinner early then do that.

I'm jealous!...Have fun!
