TS for a CS?

So Im sure that someone else has asked this before but I figured I would go ahead and ask anyways..

Ok so we booked our trip just a few weeks ago. We book the free DP. So since then I have our days planned out and I am tying to make ADRs for TS meals. However since we booked shortly before we plan to go, there is like NOTHING available. Im just worried that we are going to miss out on credits because we are unable to get any TS meals. Or do they save tables for walk ins? So I am wondering if we are not able to get into a TS resteraunt will I be able to convert my TS credits to CS? Has anyone had experience with this before? Just would like any advice!! Thank you!!

No, the restaurants don't save tables for walk-ins. You may have better luck walking in than you are anticipating, though, especially if you go early.

You can ask your lobby concierge to convert TS credits to CS. Although some have said they were not able to do this, some have said they could.

You could also try walking into a CS and paying with a TS credit. Most reports are you may have the best luck doing this at a resort CS. If one CS won't let you do it, try another one.

For those on the deluxe dining plan, deluxe credits are fully interchangeable between TS and CS.

I was able to use my TS credit for a CS and the America Counter Service place in Epcot. Not the best use of credits, I know, but it was out last night. As far as availability do not specify a restaurant. Put in the date you are looking for and the time of Dinner (or Breakfast/Lunch) and see what is available. What dates are you looking for?

We do have ADR's for Sept 30th and October 1st.. I was lucky to get some character dinings over the phone after much hassle. We were looking for ADR's for Sept 29th later at night when we first get there.. and prettymuch every other day until October 6th..

I would be ok with exchanging a TS for a CS if I had too I just was not sure if you were able too.

My advice would be to keep checking the ADR website.

For instance, I just searched October 3rd for dinner for 4 people (I don't know how many people are traveling with you) and got 13 options, most of which at resorts. You're certainly going to have better luck with less popular restaurants and off times.

Boatwrights, Shutters, Captain's Grille, and Olivia's all have quite a bit of flexibility as well.
