Dh and I are doing a quick 72 hr Disney trip next month, kinda last minute, and I'm pretty excited to go to F&G as we have never been. Working on all our dining reservations, and I'm thinking now with all the food kiosks there maybe we will not want to do a TS during this? What have your experiences been, or what recommendations do you have? Do you find yourself trying all the stuff that isn't normally offered and then skipping normal meal times?

Never been to F&G before but going for the first time soon. I have been down during Food and Wine Festival of the Arts and Holidays Around the World and ran into the same conundrum.

I'd say it depends on what time you're planning on eating from 11:30-2:00 the booths are pretty packed, right at 11 and after 2:30 the lines will be shortest. You can spend a lot of time waiting in line at these booths in the hot sun as opposed to being inside for a nice TS.

We estimated that we need to set aside three separate afternoons/evenings to hopefully eat or drink something at all the food booths so that we could have a early TS before an evening at the booths or a late TS after having lunch at the booths. Day 1 is France - America, Day 2 is Italy through the Mexico side of the Promenade, Day 3 is UK through the Canada side of the Promenade.

A day of eating at the food booths can get expensive especially if you're not sharing. We budgeted and came out with roughly $250 that we plan to spend on the food booths across those three days between drinks and food with most booth items being shared.

All the Epcot restaurants will likely still be there the next time you come back

DH and have been to F&G a couple times and were just there last week - also going back again next month :) We don't do as many TS during F&G because while the individual servings are small, if there's a lot you want to try you get full. We did end up cancelling a later dinner TS because we were still full from snacking at the kiosks from about 2-4. Also doing less TS in May since we plan to try the booths we missed and return to our favorites. And one of our TS's was made last minute which isn't uncommon for us to do when we're without the kids, so unless you'd only want to eat at the super popular restaurants you could play it by ear and if you wanted a sit down, see what's available then and there.
It was the start of spring break when we were there last week and parks overall were BUSY but the lines weren't long at all except on Saturday. However as @steg said it does get expensive if you don't share (we did about half the time, except drinks) so be aware of that. Have fun, we love it!

We go every year and we were just there a few weeks ago. We did a late lunch/early dinner @ 3:45 at R&C because we just wanted that to fall back on if the booths were too busy or if dd couldn't find anything she really liked (Miss Picky). Figured we could always split a fish n chips or I could just do soup or she could just get a kid's meal.

The booths were highly manageable which is more than I can say about F&W as it can get crazy then especially on the weekends. But dd was being picky and though we tried a few things at the FGF kitchens we were actually ready for a meal by that late afternoon time and ready for a break from the crowds and heat as well.

Pick a restaurant where you see a few apps that appeal to you on the menu because if you end up not being very hungry you can just order an app or even dessert but still take a break from the park. It will be heating up next month and you might be happy that you did make an ADR for somewhere to get out of the heat.:teeth:
