when eating at at TS place with the disiney dining plan can you ask for the dessert to go?

Generally, no. They simply don't have the means to serve them in to-go containers. Has nothing to do with Dining Plan.

We've done this in a resort TS restaurant when we couldn't finish our desserts. Nothing with ice cream though!

We've done this several times and have never had a problem with it. Every restaurant has take out containers, so it shouldnt be an issue at all. As long as its not icecream of course. You should pick a dessert that keeps well. stuff like "mousse" wont keep well in the heat.

I've done this many times at TS restaurants all over WDW. The only caveat is that none of the boxes were capable of taking home ice cream.

You can ask for the dessert to go. Some restaurants will box it for you in the kitchen, others will bring the dessert and box to the table and you will have to do it yourself.

ITA with PPs. Just make sure you choose something that will travel well like cake, cheesecake, pie, etc.

Most a la carte places have containers like you might get from a Chinese take-out in case people can’t finish something and ask for a doggie bag.
