TS Credits for CS?

From what I can gather, I think you can use your TS credits at CS counter.

This is our first trip in 6 years and we've never done a dining plan. The special offer was "free dining plan".

I don't like that fact that you have to make reservations so far ahead of time at the tables. I don't care for being "forced" to plan my WDW vacation around food or table service meals. It takes the relaxation away having to keep track of which park I can go to on which day because that's where we have a reservation.

Anyway, can you use your table credits at the quick service counters? Much more fun NOT to plan every meal every day!

Thanks in advance!

You can.

If you book a value resort you can get the QSDP, which seems to be the plan you would prefer. It would also include an extra snack per day and the refillable mug.

If you are sticking with the DDP, then you might have some luck checking earlier in the day and seeing what is available. It's worth doing some TS meals.

The only place I have been able to use a Table service credit for a counter service was at the resort. The parks always refused.

I wouldn't depend on it. People have had better luck at the Food Courts at the resorts, but reports in the parks have been less positive. It happened more frequently several years ago when free dining was first offered and the TS restaurants in the parks were overwhelmed, but not much in recent years.

Here's a concurrent thread on the same subject that has gotten responses from additional posters:
