So I'm doing EMM and MNSSHP on the same day (Sept 9). I'm feeling relatively fine about this, as I did 7 am EMH - midnight for a Christmas party last December with a TS meal at Skipper Canteen mid-afternoon. It was a long day, but I had a blast.

I currently have a 2:30 ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. I'm now concerned that that will be too much food, relatively skewed towards the beginning of the day. Wondering if I should drop a table service ADR and just hit some quick service items that have been on my bucket list.

Thoughts? Experience? I think having the table service meal in December helped my energy level. Wondering if I take my time at QS if that would be enough of a recharge. Would you keep the TS meal in the afternoon, after the breakfast buffet included with EMM?

Well, you'll be finished with breakfast by 10 (I think), so that's another 5 hrs before lunch. You don't have to order a lot. The salad at LTT is yummy. It's going to be hot and humid, so getting into the air conditioning and resting will be key to your full day success.

If you decide to go the QS route, I would plan on spending about an hour chilling out. Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Rays have ample seating. If you could score a window table at Pinnochio Village Haus, that would be a fun place to hang out for awhile.

I'd try to move LTT an hour later but I would definitely take the break. They usually have lots of odd hour availability.

Some significant time in the air is what I was thinking too - CHH high on my list if I go that route.

Thank you for the reminder that I’m not required to order a ton of food at LTT ::yes::

LTT is one of those rare places where the kid menu is a small version of the adult menu.

I ordered a side salad (which is NOT on the menu but available for asking) and kid's pot roast, and it was probably about $16 total and basically the best parts of the AYCTE platter in a reasonable portion. I love their salad, and the pot roast is to die for. Another thing my server told me is that they will sub the sides, so you can get any of the sides on the platter... I did not like the green beans and my kid doesn't eat veggies so we split an adult portion of pot roast (which came out looking like 2 kid meals... we went twice in one trip so I had recent kid meal experience) and they happily subbed mac and cheese for the green beans... could have gotten stuffing too I think. So basically pick turkey or pot roast and you can have the 'best of the platter' in kid meal portions.

Ooooh that’s a great tip! I had no idea, so thank you for sharing! Hopefully they won’t give a solo adult grief about ordering a kid’s meal.

I traveled alone with my son and we both ordered kid's meals... no grief at all. In fact my son ordered the platter for kids and i ordered a kid meal, which felt kind of weird because platter for a solo kid is same as platter for 2 adults. My son was completely overwhelmed by the amount of food. She brought the salad too and I told her she could take it back as he won't eat it (I forgot to mention it) but she just gave it to me anyway (which is how i fell in love with their salad and ordered it a la carte even though not on the menu next time) and then when she brought the ooey gooey toffee cake dessert with the kid AYCTE, she brought two spoons to "share with mommy." IME they are very chill at LTT :)

I’m wondering if I order a kid’s meal, dessert (gotta get the toffee cake), and coffee, if it would be awkward to use an AP or TIW discount.

nope, I used my AP there too. Did not bat an eye. about half the places I went to knew i had it when I sat down, it shows up on their computer. They probably all knew but only half noticed/commented.

one thing I DO do (and this is certainly not necessary but I better about it) is I tip on the adult version of what I ordered. so if kids pot roast is $11 and adults is $20 I pretend I paid $20 to calculate tip. I feel like the server should not have a tiny tip because I have a tiny tummy. It's an extra couple of dollars but it feels right to me.

Very good to hear -- that was what I had planned on in my head. I didn't want to mention that to the server, but I definitely wanted to give them a healthy tip as if I had eaten a full adult meal.

I don't mention it ahead of time. I had the sleeve surgery so will often order just an app or a kid meal but I will always calculate my portion of the tip based on a mid-ranged entree. Still come out way ahead. it is usually only a couple of dollars difference but I feel like on vacation, $2 more to me is nothing but $2 more to a server is a way of saying "I appreciate you!"

You're awesome - thank you for your responses! Agreed about the $2 and servers - I want to make sure the cast members feel appreciated, so I have no qualms about that strategy. Excited to try it out at LTT in September!

I love that tip! Both of my kids (Disney adults) would prefer turkey over pot roast, so that helps a lot!

the kid meal portions are very generous at LTT I thought. I could only eat about 1/4 of it (but again I had the surgery). It's about half an adult entree which is HUGE. It was basically a full scoop of mashed potatoes, a decent amount of green beans and a decent amount of pot roast. I just found my picture of it.

and here is a pot roast split in half along with a side salad. 20180302_150210.jpg

they forgot to sub the mac and cheese, so the waiter brought it separately. I believe this was a double, which was TOTALLY not necessary because most of it went to waste (I didn't eat it, I just had salad and mashed potatoes and pot roast)
