trying to upgade to poly concierge, help please

Hi all, staying at the poly for 2 weeks starting the 6th of september. I would like to upgrade to concierge from garden view room, how do i go about it. we have booked with virgin and are fvc members but every time i call to change this booking i get through to their indian "cant really speak,let alone understand english dept." im just fed up now as i have had problems with this dept in the past, so is there any way i can call the poly direct and ammend my booking???

i've heard that when you get through to the indian call centre ask to be put through to someone in the Uk who can deal with a special room request. I think Virgin have to request a concierge room from Disney but it can be done.

Dan, I'm pretty sure the answer is, 'no'. You'll have to persevere with Virgin, I think. Why not try faxing or emailing them?

If you have booked through Virgin, you can only upgrade through Virgin or upon arrival if availability allows. Disney won't be able to help you at this stage. Good luck - concierge at The Polynesian is amazing.

missingthemagic (for one moment, I misread your username and thought it was mushumadness - similar length and letters in username - posting more changes again... ).

Agreed with Frances. I have, in the past, upgraded rooms on arrival (to concierge/suites), BUT it then very much depends on availability.... If it is something that you REALLY want, then speak to Virgin and confirm it ASAP.

Would recommend phoning rather than emailing - TandCmum has a very good suggestion (asking to be put through to someone in the UK for a special room request...).

I spoke to an indian call centre a couple of days ago (BMI, not Virgin Holidays) and they were fantastic - very easy to understand and very capable. I was making a complex flight booking with BMI miles (one way, business class, multi-stop routing with a partner airline of BMI) - the lady handled it fantastically (I was very happy with my experience...). The quality of the call centres must vary.
