Hi all! My friend and I will be going to WDW at the end of next month. I use the DAS at Disneyland, which has helped me a lot. I'm trying to understand the system at WDW, and I'm getting some conflicting info.

1. For DAS, can you register on a non-park day at guest services? I know one of the stickies says they try and send you inside, but what are the chances they let you register outside the gates? We are ok with doing it on day 1, but were trying to see what would save some time.

2. Are there any chronic migraine sufferers out there? It has been a very long time since I have traveled far, so I'm a tad worried how my body is going to react to all of this. Any change of routine and I can get stuck with a migraine (with severe symptoms) for a few days :( How do you manage all of the traveling, waking up early every day, and long days? I will have my medication, and will keep hydrated, but anything else? At DL if I start to not feel good I just go home (which is 30 minutes away), but I can't do that at WDW.

3. Do we get return times for rides at the kiosks or at the rides themselves? I keep reading various threads and it seems like people are doing both? Or one of the other.

Thanks!

Question 1. You can try out side the park but they could tell you no. Early in the morning is when they are less likely to give you a DAS since they are more busy with ticket problems

2 I have no idea

3 you get your return times at the ride it self. I and a few other have had no problem getting return at the kiosk for the park that your in. But other have been told no or they are doing to be doing away with letting you do this. I would try and see

We tried to get DAS outside and were told to go into the park to do it, but as already said, that was in the morning and so they were really busy getting the lines of people into the park. So it may be possible, im

I can’t comment on your 2nd question, but for your 3rd either option works. There are various points around the parks with a blue umbrella that I think say guest relations or maybe services. You can get a DAS return time for any ride at one of these, or you can go to the ride entrance.

Our approach was to head for the ride entrance and if we saw a guest services point on the way we’d just do it there. One thing to note though is that those service points can have people lining up and they can move slowly, so unless the ride is nowhere near where you are heading next, it can be quicker to head for the ride.

Migraines - i stay well-hydrated, bringing my own waterbottle to sip and refilling throughout the day. I also try not to get overtired; we don’t do open-to-close and pair a coupke of late nights (fireworks) followed by a resort day or late start. Also i carry granola bars to eat a small snack between meals and prevent getting too hungry. And obviously avoiding any known triggers.

i’m not sure if you are asking about DAS related to migraines...i can’t think of how it would help me.

Enjoy your vacation!

1- have never tried to get one outside the park - sorry
2- I take my migraine meds at the first thought of a headache there. I also take naproxen prescription strength every 12 hours and Tylenol 1000mg every 6 hours (I have no liver issues and md approves this dose). I absolutely don’t eat any artificial sweeteners which contribute to migraines. I drink lots and lots of water. I have good dark sunglasses to keep down some of the Florida bright sun. Luckily I have never gotten one there
3- most of the time we get a return time at the ride but there are now little guest services spots around the park that can sometimes give them out.

Thanks! We are staying onsite so hopefully that will help with getting to and from the room. It's mainly b/c my migraines bring on very severe symptoms (high blood pressure, nosebleeds, anxiety). Plus many triggers like scents and loud sudden sounds can set them off. So I use it to try and keep myself as less stimulated/overworked as possible. I need to just take a break somewhere and relax while waiting, I do that.

I have to stop by guest services on my last trip to activate my AP and they were able to re-activate the DAS also. Not sure if they did it because I was there for something else first, but they physically can do it out of the parks. No telling if they WANT to do it when you get there.

I have activated my DAS at the guest services outside the IG at Epcot several times. Never had a problem. At MK, it’s always been inside but I never tried outside either.

I had luck in October at HS getting a return time for DAS for SDD at one of the blue umbrella Guest helpers. Many times i get at the rides because it tends to be near where I wanted to be anyway,

I had no problem adding my parents to my DAS from the outside of MK guest relations we had to activate there tickets late one afternoon the CM was fine doing it just know not all iPad can be used for the DAS they normally do have at lest one iPad that can do the DAS but not always. Going latter in the day gives you a better chance of it working out

Remember that all 4 Parks have a First Aid station where you can lie down for a little while if you need to.

Once you’re in the DAS system you can “renew” it at GS either inside or outside the park. However if you are new to the system you might want to go to the GR inside the park. In my opinion they offer more privacy than speaking up through a glass partition to someone. Think of how many times you have been anywhere waiting in a line and hearing the conversation in front of you.
