I think (hope?) most of their decisions will become clearer over the upcoming days and weeks. It seems like there is an overall plan that's begun moving, and there are so many moving parts, it's hard to detail why each part is being done. And the info they've already provided is overwhelming - they'll need to release more details as people absorb some of the changes around resort and dining and ticket reservations.Hopefully that is the rational that is behind this decision. And I guess we can't expect Disney to explain the WHY for all of their decisions, but I was one of those kids growing up that asked Why? Why? WHY? And I'm never satisfied with the reason "Because I said so." Sell me on it logically and I'll support the decision. It's what I get for being a Data Analyst for a living.
I also think it's why DIsney is 5-6 weeks behind a place like Universal - WDW has so many more moving parts and is so much bigger than Universal. Although in some ways, the FP+ system, which is only at WDW, looks to be a pain point that Disney created themselves. It's such an unnecessarily complex system, which is leading to the current cancellations. It's probably not going to happen, but it wouldn't break my heart to see FP+ go away for good.
I hope you get the answer to WHY!!
