Okay, I am frustrated that the Dining Plan participating restraunts list is apparently not complete yet and trying to decide with our family of 7 if we should just pay as we go or do the DDP>

First, T-Rex not on DDP so we would eat there out of pocket>>> no big deal

I saw someone mention Planet Hollywood so is it or is it NOT included in the list?
Also, what has happened to Marakesh & Chef de France?
Are they on or NO?

At this point (our trip is in 3 mos) I have looked and searched and can't find any other info...

I figure if we pay cash as we go>>> DH & I can just splt most the time since so much food is given anyway- Just means we have to want same things- OR we can each get what we want and split w/ one of our kids (4 over age 10 and 1 under 10) > Still if we pay cash as we go can they dictate we don't share?

If half the restraunts we want to eat at are not on the DDp thoughI am not so sure about getting DDP- even though after Narcossee's (sp) we will be able to use the table service at least 2 more times (our stay is 4 nights) and then that leaves all those counter service credits...
Can we use a counter service as counter service if the place has an eat in area and we choose to purchase and sit? or is that considered table service even if we get the food ourselves?
Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to minimize what we spend on food with a family of 7- We will again, be eating at a couple places not listed on DDP (or we intend to)> Also, we will be buying a specialty drink at least everywhere we go so the kids get one a day ... at most 2 a day souvenirs with their drinks- Then other souvenirs to get around the parks and resorts will be minimal... KWIM?
Thx for any advice
Oh & if anyone can tell me about Marakesh & Chef de France... Thx!

PH, Marrakesh, Chefs de France are all on plan -- see the sticky at the head of this forum for plan details, it include links to the revised plan documents.

Table service vs. counter service is marked in the documents; in general, buffets and meals with a waiter/waitress are TS, everything else is CS.

I just emailed my travel agent to double check on Planet Hollywood. It is confusing. I think AllEars.net said it was on the DDP but this site says only Cap N'Jaks is the only TS meal on the DDP. I think I'd rather just save my TS credit and use it somewhere other than downtown and spend the extra $$ and eat at either T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe.

I repeat, see the link in my previous post. ALL restaurants from 2008 are on the 2009 plan.

Thx for clarifying that Faldred because the updated version here on sticky as well at the Dining Link at the top of this forum must be behind- a LOT are not listed as being on the plan> Also,
can anyone tell me- If we DO choose to pay as we go- What will be said if I ask for 2 extra plates? Just wondering- If we pay as we go and my younger ones can eat from ours and get something they actually like (Mine are not chicken strip and hot dog eaters when all of us have ribs, steak, etc)

Any suggestions on that- I have searched kids menus for a few diff options from certain restraunts and some have pasta or even at Narcossee's he can get a small filet mignon- (that would be perfect- my other is 10 and will never eat an entire adult portion but the foods he likes are only what's available for adults- I can't see waste- DDP or not... I know with DDP we can not have 3 plans and all share them- which is fine> but my youngest will want "Real" food which means I will or my DH will be sharing with him anyway (He and his 10 year old brother will never share due to different tastes on everything except shrimp...) Long dilemma short> Any suggestions?
Again, just don't want waste- We can definitely save doing the DDP even if we pay out of pocket for T-Rex seperately- But... If we go out of pocket the entire way and don't use DDP will we get "policies state no sharing" comments or will we just get downturned noses (which I can deal with personally, I don't care)-
My husband was a District Manager of restraunts for over 13 years- We are a large family with many kids but tip very well (which no one knows until the end) I know it shouldn't matter but I am perplexed in needing to make ressie's and still not sure which way we should go with it... Help!

:confused3

i am sorry, i am confused. I am not sure exactly what you are asking here

in regards to the links to the PDFs in the 2009 ddp info, these links go directly to Disney and are what Disney has posted

can you clarify your question, we would love to give info, but need to understand

thanks! :)

You can order 3 meals and share them. Once the food is on the table it your food. Share it however you want.

The links to brochures in this thread open to the final 2009 brochures for all three dining plans, posted officially by Disney. These brochures should have the printing date (small print at the bottom of the brochure) 12/18/08 for the regular and deluxe plans, and 1/09 for the quick service plan.

I do not know why anyone would be getting brochures dated prior to that from those links. Try clearing your cookies - maybe that would help. Disney reposted the final brochures to these links in the last week of December 2008.

Had a very long post... Again> and lost it (aren't you guys lucky) LOL
So long story short, as I typed it I kind of came to my own conclusion-
Thx for the links though- Now I just need to see why I can't get a pdf to open... :confused3
My computer froze up and I have Adobe- Hmmmm :sad2: - will definitely check it out later- figure out all my restaurants and approx what we all may be ordering> Hoping all is included on DDP- other than the few places I know are not-
I figure we will probably not be eating 3 actual meals a day while at Disney anyway- This will be our first time so we will see...
DDP should be best because it will give us the options we need- pay OOP for the couple we just must do (T-Rex is one)> and then whatever is leftover can be collected as snacks and such to drive home with- then if that does not work for us- in July we will take a different route...
Thx again!:goodvibes

Do your homework! The dining plan is straightforward but does have very specific guidelines. Not having meals planned correctly can ruin many people's trips! You have to be sure you and your family members understand how it works BEFORE you get there. You don't have to decide what to order, just how to order. (ie CS credit= entree + dessert+ drink and there will be a counter involved to pick up your food, you'll "pay" at a register...TS credit= entree (or buffet) + dessert + drink and you will have a reservation, be seated by a hostess and someone will wait on you). People think they have to use them equally (1ts, 1cs per day); not true. In my experiences, there has been lots of flexibility with the snack credits, not just for soda, water, chips and fruit. Have fun planning. :wave2:
