Trying to streamline making soup: What's the min. time needed to boil the bone

Surely it can't take an hour to boil the ham bone to make soup. Has anyone tried cutting down the bone time?

I see that I've made it to the 9th year of being on the dis. Where did the time go?

Are you boiling the ham bone ahead of time? Does it have any meat on it? I generally just cook the bone at the same time I am cooking the soup.

Me too. I just leave the bone in the entire time I'm cooking my soup or pinto beans. I've never bothered to boil anything ahead of time though if you do, you can boil and freeze for later use.

There is nothing better than a pot of beans cooked with a ham bone. YUMMY.
