The day of the marathon (Sunday January 10, 2010) it was frigid at WDW. As Kathy and the crew had said on the e-mail show, there was a frost and it was hard on the vegetation.
I was at the Animal Kingdom at rope drop (taking photos of the Marathoners) and was diverted due to portable heaters. I took a couple pictures of the attempts to warm up the trees.
They set up visqueen enclosures and blew hot air in. This set-up was utilized across the park until after I left AK at 10:45.
It was cold enough that the cast members had to ask the guests to step away from the heaters.
