Trying to purchase themed magic bands

Trying to purchase the themed magic bands is not so magical. Its almost always out of stock, then when you get one and get to last click to purchase, the button will not work. Whats the trick? do I need to use a different browser?

no real trick from what I can tell. Keep checking and be ready to pull the trigger as soon as it will let you.

I gave up and just ordered the only one we could get after checking multiple times per day, for over a month. I was able to get the one my daughter wanted easily. The one my son wanted was sometimes available to add to the cart, but never available to actually purchase. So I ordered him the same print as a skin...with a bonus feature of glow in the dark Haunted mansion wallpaper that glows in the dark for less than a band was a good option for us!

Just patience. I tried 2-3 times per day for a couple of weeks. I had to compromise slightly on the one that I wanted in order to get a good one for DH (limited edition Mickey Halloween band) that he would wear. He wasn't really keen on the whole idea of getting special ones or even paying the discounted rate ($15 for the special one) until I got it and showed it to him. He's now happy about it especially since we're going to MNSSHP. You just have to keep at it and be ready with a selection of alternatives you're prepared to accept. I think it will get better as time goes on so it depends on when you're going. If you have the luxury of time, you can keep at it and make fewer compromises.

Lots of people got bands ordered yesterday. I had been trying for the castle band for about 2 months & it was always out of stock. That was the only one I wanted enough to pay for, our trip isn’t til December but I was losing hope of ever getting it.

I checked yesterday at 5:45 am, only 4 special bands listed, same ones listed about an hour later. I was having lunch at work around 2:30 & reading the Dis. A few people posted they had just been able to order bands including the castle one & all ordered had gone thru. So I quick checked & was also able to order a sorcerer Mickey & castle band. There were about 10 options available which hadn’t been there earlier.

Just trying to say the bands do just show up randomly. It is aggravating to try ordering & get the out of stock message. Maybe Disney is trying to fix the issues because yesterday seemed much better. I hope you get the ones you are looking for soon!

Welcome to the club! Took us 6 weeks of checking multiple times a day. I sent in my first ever customer complaint email to Disney and never got a response. I think they really don't have a solution.

A lot of times they are sold out. However, the one trick that consistently worked for me (I have 2 trips and split stays planned, so I had to do this multiple times), is I did the incognito tab on my phone and always had the best luck getting them at like 5:30 AM or earlier when i would wake up for work.

I tried for weeks. I wanted specific bands. I did notice better availability on Sunday's and Mondays and inventory went down as the week went on. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I was able to place my order this week which was my 60 day mark.

We are looking for specific bands to (and they are in stock if you want to pay $24 for them on the regular Disney site). Do you know if they just don't offer all the bands because I've been watching sporadically for weeks and it seems like the same old, same old.

The kids want Lightning McQueen and Slinky Dog. I just told their mother that it's just not going to happen on the same day and sent her over to the site for ordering skins. I've been stalking the bands today. Started out with about 14 premium bands, now down to six. Pretty much the same old stuff I've been seeing for weeks.

I don't think I ever saw a lightning McQueen. But I did see a Slinky Dog

Since we are going to be staying in the swan and dolphin we won’t get any bands and thinking of getting bands for us anyways, as it’s going to be easy I think.

Can we buy one for a 2 year old or do they get a complementary one?

I haven't seen McQueen either. I'll have to let my cousin know that just because it's in the Disney store does not mean it will be offered as an upgrade. We had the wrong idea about these things I suppose.

Patience and luck. Finally got two for our trip. Daughter is happy with hers, as I am with my Spaceship Earth one - but, I would have LOVED a Haunted Mansion one. Luck of the draw.

Bands have a limited shelf life before they stop working (I think I have heard 1-2 years or so) so that can be an issue.

MBs work two different ways. The battery in the MB is only need to contact the long range receivers in attractions that have enhanced guest interactions and or attraction picture.

Since neither of these 2 options are required for basic MB operation, a MB will work almost indefinably at Touch-points such as park entry, purchases, and attraction picture selection using a touch-point kiosk.
